I grew up 20 minutes away from the Seacliff Bridge. When I was getting into photography I’d shoot this place from every angle possible.

Sunrise, sunset, in the middle of the night to get long exposures of cars driving over it, you name it

So the other morning, I was back in Wollongong where I grew up and took the new Mavic 4 Pro for a spin (what a drone by the way… 👀)

And man, as soon as we got to the top of the look out, allllll the memories came rushing back from all those years ago

I was (and still am) so blessed to have grown up around the corner from this place and to have it at my doorstep to be able to practice shooting here.

Anyway, that’s all from me, I hope you’re enjoying the final few days of 2025 ✌️

A nice little chilly end to the year on the Great Ocean Road 🌊

I absolutely love shooting here but definitely expected the weather to be warmer at this time of year 🥶

Anyway, I hope you’re well and looking forward to Christmas!

I’m looking forward to some solid down time and some more time to get a few more sunrises in before heading home

Sunrise, cameras and work. A staple day overhere in the UAE 🇦🇪 All shot on the Osmo Pocket 3.

This camera makes capturing everyday life fun.

It fits in my pocket and shoots incredible looking footage.

Makes for the perfect vlogging camera too with the wide angle lens

Might just fall in love with documenting the day to day 👀

I wasn’t expecting that many of you to resonate with my last post about the shelf life of travel photography.

So many of you are either in the grind, feeling the burnout creeping in, or already looking for a way out.

So I wanted to share a little more about what I’ve been doing to combat it without losing my creative edge -

1. I reduced the posting pressure
I used to feel like I had to post constantly to stay relevant and for clients to come in. Now I shoot for myself first and post when it feels right.

2. I diversified my business
Travel photography still brings me work I love. But I don’t rely on it anymore. I built education products, systems, a YouTube channel, a small team and a little some strategies on how to keep business flowing without going crazy

3. I started saying no to jobs that didn’t feel right. To trips that would wreck me. To opportunities that looked good but didn’t fit my life.

It felt scary at first.

Saying no to the opportunities I’d worked so hard to get but I’m 18 months in and it feels right

I’m still shooting.

Still travelling.

Still working with brands I love.

I just don’t let it define my ENTIRE business anymore.

And honestly? I’ve never felt more creative.

The thing about travel photography is that it has a shelf life.

I started in 2017. Went ‘full-time’ in 2019 (made no money lol)

Covid hit.

Then 2021-2023 was the dream run. Brands, flights, constant travel, the whole lot

I was living the life I had wanted for years!

But by the end of 2023, I was burnt out big time

Not in a dramatic way

Just in a “I can’t see myself doing this at 40” kind of way

I’ve watched so many friends go through the same arc -

Two years of grinding on Instagram

Two years of it working

Then the realization that the lifestyle isn’t sustainable long term

The time zones, the deadlines, the pressure to keep posting only better and better content just start to scratch the surface

So I pivoted hard.

I started building things that didn’t require me to be on a plane every week

I started building something I could see myself doing as I got older and had some genuine longevity

That was/is YouTube. Not YouTube travel videos but education on YouTube

But as my focus shifted I left this account behind

I’ve mentioned this countless times in the past and I’ve made my ‘comeback’ so many times now it’s ridiculous… 🤡

I’m still out here shooting. I’m still traveling. I just don’t want my entire business to depend on it anymore.

So I’m bringing this back, but in a way that actually fits my life now.

Less pressure, more intention. Still the work, just with a longer view.

It’s taken me two years to figure this out

And it might change again

But I am incredibly grateful to have you on this journey with me, and I hope you’ll stick around

And I know because my drone came back clean 😌

With that said though, I don’t think I’ll ever be recreating that shot again💀

This time last year I was wrapping up one of the wildest trips I’ve done in Flores 🏝️

and I spent 10 days travelling the island with one of the main goals to hit Mt Kelimutu 🌋

This volcano had been on my list of must visit places in Indonesia for years and to finally get up there and shoot it at sunrise was a blessing 🙏

Istanbul is one of the most lively places I’ve visited

The people are friendly, the views from almost anywhere in the city are great and the food is 🤌

Turkey as a whole is such an incredible country, especially to shoot 📸

I’m looking forward to getting back there hopefully one day soon 🇹🇷
