AI can write your caption. The buck still stops with you and me.

Here's what that looked like last week.

"If someone reaches out and a robot answers, I've told them exactly what they're worth to me."

AI wrote that line for me. Read it back — it's a good sentence.

It's also unfair.

Plenty of people I respect run a welcome email or an auto-reply on a first message. Sometimes that's the platform they're on. Sometimes it's one pair of hands running a whole business. They're not telling anyone what they're worth.

AI drafted that in seconds. What it couldn't do was know the sentence would land as an insult on someone in my own audience.

So I deleted it and wrote the replacement myself. You can watch me do it in the video.

AI can lay out the options.

The choosing is mine.

Pssst!.. I used to be embarrassed to share my screen recordings.

Messy desktop.
Tiny we**am box floating in the corner.
A black screen where the recording had silently died without telling me.

So I recorded things… and never hit send.

Four days ago I gave it one afternoon.
Same laptop. Same we**am. Zero new subscriptions.
Just free, open-source OBS Studio — and Claude telling me which of the 200 settings actually mattered.

You're not missing a budget.
You're missing a setup.

Everyone asks what to post. Nobody asks where it goes.

This is where mine lives: on Airtable, a project management tool. One simple table with every caption written and date set weeks ahead.

Every single row has a status—needs review, ready, scheduled. Nothing goes live that I haven't looked at again with fresh eyes.

The system isn't there to make me faster. It's there so tired-me can't publish something careless-me wrote.

Everyone shows you what they automated.
Here's what I won't.

An apology. If I got something wrong, I'm the one who says so.

And the decision itself. AI can lay out options. Choosing is mine.

Anyone can list what they automated.
What you refuse to automate is the actual position.

"I have nothing original to say."

That's the most common reason people don't post. And it's the wrong bar.

There's nothing new under the sun. Everything worth saying has already been said by somebody. What hasn't happened is you saying it — in your own voice, from where you're standing, to the person in front of you who sees themselves in you.

You don't need to be original. Your perspective is the part that is new and authentic.

Don't let it go unsaid because someone got there first.

If someone came to mind while you read this, send it to them. They've been deleting that draft for weeks.

People think consistency is a personality trait.

It's one sitting on a Sunday.

This is me scheduling a whole week. Watch how boring it is — that's the point. Nobody films this part because there's nothing impressive about it.

It's also the entire difference between people who post and people who mean to.

What day would your one sitting be? Drop it below.

I could do the work.
I couldn't describe it.

It took me months to say what my own business does in one sentence. Months — running it the whole time.

That feels like a marketing problem. Doesn't it? It feels like I failed to express what I was doing.

The words just lag behind the work.

What moved it wasn't a better word. It was deciding in my mind who I was talking to and how to express it so that my target audience understands what I do.

Here's where I landed:

The Social Mediax helps faith-based creators, entrepreneurs, ministries leaders communicate with clarity, show up consistently, and build a presence rooted in purpose, culture and faith.

Months. For that one sentence.

If you can't say yours yet, you're not lost. You're still figuring out how to say it.

Your turn — what's your one sentence that describes what your business does? Drop it below, I'll read every one.

Worth saying out loud.

78% of small business owners don't fully trust AI to handle even low-level tasks without human oversight. Only 22% are completely confident letting it work unsupervised.

If you've been slow to hand things over, you're not behind. You're careful.

Careful isn't a weakness in business. It's what keeps your name clean.

Twelve okay posts won't outperform one clear one.

I stopped asking "what should I post today?"
I started asking four questions instead.

Whose problem does this name?
Are these their words?
What does their after look like?
Could a busy person follow it once?

If you can answer yes to all four, it's ready to post.
If you can't, you've just found the thing to fix.

Yes, it's one more step before you publish.
It's also why you'll stop rewriting posts that were never going to land.

Save this. Run your next post through all four before you hit publish. 🤍
