While there are many amazing Spring Break destinations near the Upstate, we want to highlight some fantastic ones in Western NC - ones that really need the tourism dollars to start coming in. This is a wonderful way to help local businesses who have been nearly crushed by Hurricane Helene over five months ago. Even if you don't stay for several days at these places, even a day trip would be a great support for them!
๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ช๐ก๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐:
๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป: hiking, food, and family fun are all right here. Stay at the Pinnacle Inn for access to their indoor pool and sauna. Kayak for free at Buckeye Rec. Enjoy incredible hikes. Ride the alpine coaster in nearby Banner Elk.
๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ: there are few NC towns we have visited more than Brevard simply because it's not too far and the hiking and waterfalls are unmatched. There are so many beautiful spots to explore here + the downtown is super cute. We love staying at Pilot Cove.
๐๐๐ต๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฒ: the local businesses and restaurants here really need your business. You can visit the amazing Biltmore estate, play at the Asheville Retrocade, explore the WNC Nature Center, visit the free mineral museum in downtown Hendersonville nearby. The options are endless.
๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐: we are huge fans of this area because of the many trails, waterfalls, and simply sweet little towns. If you stay at the Sapphire Valley Resort, you can have access to their indoor heated pool and sauna + their mini-golf course. Nearby Sylva is a must-see for quaint bookstores, the cat museum, and library. Dillsboro is like a little Hallmark Town - so much to do.
๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฒ: Stay at Buffalo Creek Vacations on a working bison ranch or at the whimsical The Glamping Collective. You can visit with alpacas and mini-cows at Wi******er Creek Farm Alpacas + Minis and catch the sunrise at Waterrock K**b.
