While Jim Carrey is best known for classic goofy movies such as “The Mask” and “Dumb & Dumber”, he began to dip his toe into the off- beat & subversive with this late 90s dark comedy “The Cable Guy”. Also starring Matthew Broderick, Leslie Mann, Jack Black and directed by Ben Stiller, this is one of your hosts’ favorite overlooked performances by Jim Carrey!

Well, we may have found the apex of the “shark attack movie” subgenre with “Mako: The Jaws of Death”. This 1976 low budget movies brings an absolutely insane plot to the forefront & simultaneously is an awful piece of garbage!

Another season of Obscure Obsessions, another Jaws rip-off. Only Mako: The Jaws of Death (1976) isn’t really a Jaws rip-off. Instead, it’s the story of a man and his psychic connection with sharks. When he discovers that a local aquarium is exploiting the sharks, he uses his psychic connection to enact his revenge.

Starring the voice talents of John Goodman, Martin Short, Rhea Perlman, Jay Leno and more, this romp through New York City featuring a cavalcade of colorful characters is a nostalgic blast from the past!
