Guess who’s back?! We have woken from our long slumber & ready to share some of our favorite movies to watch during the spookiest time of the year! Join us as we kick off our 5th Annual Holiday Trilogy wherever podcasts are available!
5th Annual Holiday Trilogy, Part I - Shadow of the Vampire / The Midnight Meat Train / The Brothers Grimm

The Holiday Trilogy returns!

Taylor & Nick are joined again by show correspondent (and middle cousin) Anthony for more holiday movie recommendations!

We start off with Shadow of the Vampire (2000), a unique blend of fact and fiction: a filmmaker obsessed with adapting Dracula hires a real vampire to play the infamous count.

Then a photographer searches for a vicious serial killer in this gory adaptation of Clive Barker’s short story, The Midnight Meat Market (2008).

Finally, we travel into the imagination of Terry Gilliam with his revisionist take on the classic fairy tales of The Brothers Grimm (2005).

In order to properly celebrate this monumental occasion, we’re taking a look at a movie that we’ve pushed back for 5 full years but can’t wait to talk about! It seems only fitting that we end our Werewolf Marathon with the third installment to “The Howling” franchise - which takes viewers on a journey down to the Australian outback & encounter quite literally some of the most bizarre and wildest moments ever put to film! First up is an adaptation of a Stephen King novelette, “Silver Bullet” - which features a screenplay written by King himself. This week, we revisit one of the most bizarre and strange sequels to a series of films ever, “Trail of the Pink Panther”. Meant to conclude the various escapades of Inspector Closeau, this film was made following the death of star Peter Sellers primarily using footage from other films in the franchise for an utterly baffling experience!

Two years after his death, Peter Sellers was “resurrected” for the seventh installment in the Pink Panther franchise. This time Nick & Taylor discuss the history of the series, debate the morality of using an actor’s likeness without their consent, and obsess over one of Hollywood’s most bizarre products as they follow the Trail of the Pink Panther (1982).

In 1978, Christopher Reeve took on the role of playing Superman and it only took less than decade for his series of films to go completely off the rails with “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace”! Notoriously remembered for being one of the worst superhero movies of all time, this movie features something for everyone including nuclear weapons, fights on the moon, roasted duck, gardening tools, product placement and so much more!

Celebrate the release of James Gunn’s Superman with the wonderfully atrocious Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). When Superman decides to rid the world of nuclear weapons, Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) engineers a super-powered beefcake called Nuclear Man to take down the Man of Steel. Stupendously camp, outrageously cheap, and unbelievably fun, Taylor & Nick have plenty to obsess over this week.

Happy Fourth of July! In the time-honored tradition of barbecues, fireworks and family gatherings, it only makes sense to get everyone together and celebrate this holiday by watching the 1971 low-budget classic “Frogs”!

Is there any better way to celebrate July 4th than watching a movie where an old lady is hunted down by swamp critters while catching butterflies? Of course not! Space truly is the final frontier, so it only makes sense for Britain’s top secret agent 007 to launch into the atmosphere on arguably one of his silliest missions ever! “Moonraker” puts James Bond in some ridiculous situations but does provide some truly hilarious results - give it a listen wherever podcasts are available!

Bond fans are split on Moonraker (1979). With its outlandish plot and camp-laden humor, some consider the film a guilty pleasure. Other fans find little-to-no pleasure in this Star Wars knockoff. Listen and discover if Nick & Taylor want to blast off or shut off Moonraker.
