Anxiety can come from being out of alignment with self...
When my generalized anxiety was at it worst, I believed I shouldn't exist, but I did, and that itself caused anxiety because if I'm not supposed to be here, then why am I and why don't I have a manual to help me out!?!?
After examining my own anxiety a lot over the last few years, I've found that my self-defeating/limiting subconscious beliefs were the roots I needed to deal with, but the problem with roots.... they're underground and can't see them very easily. Therefore, I needed to dissect the situations I found myself being anxious in. I had to get curious, if there was a problem I COULD fix, I wanted to find it.
Sometimes, we have to dig into the nasty areas to find out that the sewer drain was clogged, and THAT'S why s**t kept backing up seemingly out of nowhere! It's not easy, it's not fun, but the rewards are amazingly worth it.
My advice; Catch yourself red handed with your feelings, tell yourself "This is going to suck" while putting on your hazmat suit (or whatever else you'd like to envision), then dive into those feelings and thoughts of the feelings looking for what IS YOU. You are in there somewhere, trying to tell yourself what you need, but we let so much stuff get in the way, that we get anxious looking for ourselves, when we've been right here all along.
