On August 24, 2025, 34-year-old Tamima Nibras Juhar, a Muslim woman of Norwegian-Ethiopian origin, was stabbed to death while working at a childcare center in the part of Oslo called Kampen.

The suspect is 18-year-old Djordje Wilms, who confessed to the murder and stated that the act was "politically motivated". He was accused of murder with terrorist intent.

Wilms was known to the Security Services (PST) as of 2024 for his links to elements of right-wing extremism. He planned attacks on mosques in Oslo, was active on Telegram channels linked to an extreme right-wing party, and publicly expressed his hatred of Islam and migrants.

The murder of Tamima Juhar on August 24, 2025 in Oslo is a tragic manifestation of Islamophobia and right-wing extremism ‼️
It cannot be viewed in isolation, but is part of a wider pattern of violence motivated by race, religion or sexual orientation — which includes the events of 2011 (Breivik), 2019 (Manshaus), and the 2022 attack on the LGBTQ community.
Norway faces the challenge of how to turn brutal examples of hatred into long-term change through legislation, education and solidarity.
