Meet Denice.
She’s a graduate of BS in Tourism in Management.
Natanggap agad siya sa Global & International Hotels even if fresh graduate siya.
At dahil masipag at magaling siya, 2x siya napromote to Customer Retention Specialist and Global Corporate Sales.
Kaso dahil night shift pa siya tas malayo commute araw araw, nagresign siya.
She then applied to another job in the province, but eventually resigned again.
It seems hindi pa rin enough yung ineearn niya, kahit nagstay siya sa home working.
Buti nalang sa last job niya, nahired siya as a travel consultant.
Everything was working well for her. Pay and benefits are good.
Until pandemic came, and she was laid off.
She stumbled across an ad na pwede daw magfreelance na walang Upwork and OLJ to get clients.
So she took a risk to enroll in a freelancing course with her last money.
And after a few months, she got a client for $150 project.
This time, she didn’t think back of going to the corporate world.
Pero sympre, hindi naging madali.
She got clients who lowballed for her projects.
Even had clients na di siya binayaran.
Meron rin clients na bigla nagbreak up sila sa mga projects even if on-going yung process.
At meron rin months na hindi niya nahihit ang income niya.
She also had months na zero talaga income.
But she decided to keep going kasi wala naman talga mangyayari kung titigil agad siya.
After 2 years of hardwork, she was able to achieve her work-life balance that she dreamt since she was working sa corporate.
She can travel na hindi niya na keilangan hintayin ang vacaton leave.
She’s also been closing 6-figure per Brand & Web Design project while on vacation.
She’s been able to work with big brands that were already featured by CNN Philippines, Tatler, L’Officiel, Travel and Leisure etc.
And lastly, she’s opened her community to helping newbie & aspiring freelancers (Freelancing Talks) & consultation program for branding & marketing clients.
