Founded in 2008, new issues appear every February, May, August, and November unless otherwise specified. All issues also contain interviews with members of the literary and artistic community as well as timely literary reviews. Up the Staircase Quarterly loves to support our contributors, and we nominate for the Best New Poets, Pushcart Prize, and Best of the Net awards. We publish poetry and art
that resonate in imagery and idea. We are seeking originals, difference makers, and artists going in new directions. Our tastes are wide and varied. We will accept the work of beginning, emerging, and established writers, if the fit is right. We know what we like, and our response times are quick. We embrace quirky, daring, and thoughtful work. We also accept submissions of literary reviews and interviews with writers, artists, editors, and other members of the artistic community. As the name of our journal suggests, Up the Staircase Quarterly loves the process of the climb, the journey that we take, and the anticipation to find what will be revealed at the top of the stairs.
