Yay - the first EP is out! 🎉 🔥It took a few years but I finally got something published!😅 The journey so far, where I have focused more on the live act, has already been extremely fun and wonderful. It all actually started when I asked a friend at the end of the New Year party 19/20 if there would be room for my music at the Apupyörä event to be organized in February 2020. My friend asked for a couple of demos, which went through and suddenly I had to make 45 minutes more material! And build a live setup. 😬 It was a fun but challenging process lasting a couple of months where there wasn't much thinking, but the first ideas were the best. Maybe Köppö's sound somehow took shape in this era. The gig started at 5:30 in the morning and went excellently, and then the corona came right away. However, I decided to continue making music and wrote more songs, tried to take the sound to a more professional level and performed at private events. After the restrictions ended, I've been able to perform for strangers as well as far as Sweden and the feedback has been extremely heartwarming, I've even shed a few tears in the post-gig euphoria when someone has told me that they enjoyed the gig completely. 🥰 This feedback has been the main reason why I have a strong urge to continue music making.
So there are about ten gigs behind, but now there will be a new step when the music is released. It feels like this will suddenly become somehow official, that's why it's also scary to put these out. Some perfectionist inside me says that they are never ready, but sometimes you have to let them go, and now is apparently the time. These two songs are old and very old productions: Hyppy was once made for Heli Keskikallio's Bounce dance performance 2017 and Metsä was composed together with Teo Paaer for the 2014 SFINX line-up. They have changed a lot over the years, but now when you listen to them, you could have published them years ago, they haven't moved on that much now. 🙂 Here are the Youtube links and Spotify etc. and Beatport will come a little later. There are also a lot of songs that are almost ready, so I bet that there will be a release, if not another, in the near future. 😊
