Sunday: Elizabeth Stark and Madeline Ticknor

Madeline Ticknor began her agenting career in 2018 as an intern at Curtis Brown, and soon after began working as an assistant at the Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency where she worked with award-winning authors including Carl Safina, Nancy Springer, Sarai Walker, and Bonnie Kistler, and more. In 2021, she joined Writers House as an agent associate and began building her own list. Authors she worked with at Writers House include Jonathan Franzen, Rachel Kushner, Imbolo Mbue, William T. Vollmann, Tim Murphy, Vauhini Vara, Sanjena Sathian, and many more. In 2022 Madeline joined Janklow & Nesbit Associates and is actively building her own list of literary and commercial fiction and narrative nonfiction.

It's not too late to give your kids a super-fun boost this summer in . Willows Workshop is offering a Mindset Math and Leisure Sports Camp starting Monday, August 3. My kids did this math in middle school during the pandemic and LOVED it. Another student thought she hadn't taken math at all (it was just exploration, art, fun) and tested into the top 4% at her new school! Angie is running the most amazing summer camp starting THIS Monday, July 8 at Willows Workshop: Camp Get Me Out of Here--horror filmmaking! Sebastopol Filmmaker and Film Festival Director Oscar Arce Naranjo will be leading it with her, Bay Area FIlmmaking Superstar Florencia Manovil will give a talk about filmmaking and community, and the fabulous Guinevere Turner, who co-wrote AMERICAN PSYCHO will give the kids feedback and come to the final screening Friday, July 19 at 5:30 PM.

Turner is visiting Sebastopol as a guest expert for the teen horror film camp offered by Willow’s Workshop in July. You are also welcome to attend the screening July 19 of the horror film the teens will plan, write, shoot, and edit--with feedback from Guinevere Turner--during CAMP GET ME OUT OF HERE. ABOUT

Guinevere Turner is a writer, director and actor who has been working in film and TV since her 1994 debut film Go Fish, which she wrote, produced and starred in. She teamed up with director Mary Harron to write the films American Psycho, The Notorious Bettie Page and the 2019 film Charlie Says. She was a writer and story editor on Showtime’s The L Word, and she played the recurring character Gabby Deveaux on that show. She has written and directed seven short films, two of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Regina Marler is the author of Bloomsbury Pie: The Making of the Bloomsbury Boom. She edited Q***r Beats: How the Beats Turned America on to S*x and Selected Letters of Vanessa Bell. Regina also writes regularly for the New York Review of Books.

Angie Powers is the lead teacher of Horror Film Camp and director of Willows Workshop. Her first feature, Lost in the Middle, won Best Feature at the Broad Humor 2019 Festival and was a Festival Favorite at Cinema Diverse. Her novel, The Blessed, won the Amanda Davis Thesis Award when she earned an M.F.A. in English and Creative Writing from Mills College. She earned a Master’s in Film by Negotiation from Staffordshire University, a Certificate in Screenwriting from the Professional Programs from UCLA, and a CTE teaching credential in Arts, Media & Entertainment.
