A low-pressure system will work through the state on Saturday, and scattered to numerous showers are likely, especially on Saturday morning. The vast majority of the rain will move in the morning through early afternoon across the state, with improving conditions in the afternoon and evening. We do need the rain, I don't expect it to bring much, but it is better than nothing. A Wintry mix of snow/sleet is possible across the higher elevation of the mountains in the morning too. Another round of scattered showers is likely on Sunday too before very cold air moves back in Sunday night.

It's a new day ahead across the state, and it's a little warmer. Happy Friday, North Carolina! Partly to mostly sunny skies, it feels a little "warmer" to start the day, highs will be in the 40s and low 50s for most of the state. It'll be a quiet day; our weather changes for Saturday with rain chances, although the best chances will be in the morning through early afternoon.

Internet issues yesterday- so this is a little late....look for stores to be promoting ribs and hot dogs...chips and soda for the next few weeks leading up to the Super Bowl...and Valentine's Day sections- the Little Debbie Valentine cakes are already in the stores. With the cold- I am in soup mode overdrive! Had made bean soup- and pasta fagiole so it was in the freezer- Italian chicken vegetable soup...I can make it through another week or so of cold!

High of 52 today!!! Shorts and sandals!!!

It's a new day ahead, and by the afternoon, we will think we're in a heatwave 😂. Happy Thursday, North Carolina! Our winds will shift today, and a front-around will allow for temps to warm up. It'll be quite cold this morning, but by afternoon it'll be feeling much better. Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected for most areas; highs will be in the 40s to low 50s for most areas. Have a great day!
