Hi to one and all. After a long break while the world ran kicking and screaming in the face of Covid, locking ourselves up until we all went bats**t crazy, 2tonic is gonna be back on your desktops.
The page was always designed to be the foundation for a written magazine but as time has past, it's become increasingly evident that world no longer wants to to read and instead our attention spans have withered to the point where 5 second videos of pretty girls skipping or whatever seem to be the order of the day.
So after a lot of soul searching - well, scribbling a couple of illegible sentences on the back of a fag packet for as long as it takes to go the three stops on the 415 bus from the Elephant and Castle home, we've decided to relaunch the site.
But instead of the lofty goal to build a network that could function as a foundation for the launch of a groundbreaking written publication we are gonna focus on something far more simple and straightforward - Building a community that shares stuff.
We are gonna be a site that shares useful, interesting and insightful stuff from life hacks to interesting gigs, from recipes to poetry, good tunes, where to listen to them and the like.
The idea will be for us to share stuff that enriches our lives with each other including warning of potential scams and other s**t out there that has the potential to trip us up. As more stuff gets dumped on the site I'll start to categorise our posts into stuff like GIGS, USEFUL DOMESTIC TIPS, GOOD DEALS ETC.
So stuff as simple as advice like drying our razors after use to keep them sharp and letting each other know about deals such as the cheap blow up chairs currently available in LIDL's will sit alongside news of upcoming gigs and good tv shows or album releases. We are also encouraging people to share their skills from film editing to fixing cupboards. Perhaps you could sort out a barter deal with someone.
Anyway, feel free to message the community on here or DM me if you want to chat about this or want to get involved in admin or developing the idea. At some point we are going to put up a Wordpress site featuring creative work done by the community but for now it's about sharing skills, wisdom, goods, services and anything else we have to offer that could enrich the lives of other community members.
I'm guessing this will take a while to get going but we are in for the long haul as this has the potential to become something that helps us all.
Finally, you are welcome to post political stuff here and advice on how to navigate the system from repaying debts to getting housed. As long as it's designed to help then its allowed.
And of course we will still be posting and reposting the odd meme, joke and links to interesting creative s**t on the 'interweb'
