Unfortunately, as some of you may have heard, the wonderful sadly closed its doors for the final time recently, and it's safe to say I was absolutely gutted. The station had provided DRIFT with a radio home for a long time, and the staff were always super supportive with the DRIFT ethos.

For a time, I was unsure if I would get a radio show anywhere else, but not to worry, as local legends have offered me a trial show today! Tune in from 1-2pm today, as I share with you some very exciting new material, as of yet completely unheard amongst the usual downtempo and ambient goodies.

And just like that, we're celebrating 5 years of exploration into the fringes of club music and beyond. To celebrate the momentous occasion, we've invited an absolute legend of the game, up for a special one off party at Expect a slight change in pace as the renowned selector brings his trademark bag of goodies from across the musical spectrum!

Over the last half decade, we've released over 30 mixes of everything from ambient and noise to jazz and soul, we've had listening events and gigs in London, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh and we've had the pleasure of being involved in radio stations .fm and the now sadly closed

There's plenty in store for the next few years, and we can't wait to share the announcements in due time, but for just now you can join us for a proper celebration at Sneaks on the 15th November!

Massive shout out to Tiree for putting together this party-themed poster for the event, absolutely buzzing with it. She's got some amazing artwork so be sure to check out her other stuff! The posters will also be up around Edinburgh over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for them!

Next up on our Fringe Finale lineup, we have Edinburgh based DJ and producer Eosap. With regular outings across the city under the DBT collective, Eosap is extremely knowledgeable about a range of genres including ambient and minimal and is certain to give us listeners an enthralling journey for his set at Lost in Leith!

Previously releasing music under his name Joe Highet, he also has an upcoming label project in the works, so be sure to keep an eye out for that! We can't wait for him to take the helm on Saturday!

Introducing the first DJ for our unofficial fringe closing party at Lost in Leith: Priminho. Making the journey up from his adopted home down in Sheffield, the melodic distraction host is one half of the seminal Black Beacon Sound record label/shop and has been at the beating heart of music in his local scene as well as on his many radio shows ( , .radio and ) for a number of years.

His deep knowledge of music transfers directly to his label; Black Beacon Sound having released some amazing electronic music by household names such as .vogel and as well as delving into hip-hop and beyond from the likes of Zen the Sharpshooter. It seemed an absolute no brainer to add him to our lineup, with him having recently covered a "Mornings With..." show on Melodic Distraction which blew us away when we first heard it! The 2 hour slot allowed his deft abilities as a selector to shine as he seamlessly weaved together trip hop, downtempo, jazz and electronica.

He'll be playing Lost in Leith from 10pm and warming things up with a relaxed vibe ahead of the party later in the evening, grab a free ticket and get down early to avoid missing him!

After the success of their Listening Lab last month, .dance returns to on Saturday 26th August alongside promotion veterans for a FREE festival closing party unlike any other!

3am license confirmed with a huge range of music genres planned, from ambient and experimental to jazz and rare groove and into dance music from across the globe; all being spun by some of the most exciting DJs from across the UK and beyond right now!

Extremely excited to share the lineup announcements over this next week, so keep an eye on our socials! Oh and did we mention it's FREE, why would you go anywhere else to round off your fringe!

Really happy to be sharing this mix with everyone after been trying to find time to record it for the best part of a year (sorry Kye). It's a big hit of nostalgia this one for me, as I delve into the type of music that first got me hooked on DJing and club culture: disco.

In the hour long mix, I select tracks from playlists long-forgotten on my usb, from chilled out jazz-funk, through lush deep soul cuts to get-up-and-dance disco. Was absolutely great fun to record, thank you so much to Kye for having me!

The amazing space at in which our listening lounge will be taking place this evening. We'll be creating a relaxed atmosphere surrounding the DJ booth with plants, chilled out lights and tables and chairs for those down early enough. As tonight is a free event, we cannot guarantee seats with a view for those arriving later, so get down from 7 (or even earlier and grab a beer) to make sure you don't miss out!

For the first set of the night, DRIFT founder and resident SSID takes charge bringing an arsenal of ambient and experimental left-field records.

19:45 - 20:30
DJ JAVASCRIPT / .lochhead
Cutting his teeth in Aberdeen before recently moving to Glasgow, DJ JAVASCRIPT is a talented producer and DJ focusing on capturing a familiar, nostalgic 90s vibe. Expect tape hiss, ambient breaks and PS1 sound scapes as the Finite Source label head takes control.

20:30 - 21:15
Aidan
After a brief stint in London, as well as several months in south America, the wack name is less familiar around Edinburgh these days. However for those who remember, the collective were responsible for some serious bookings across the capital and it's a pleasure to welcome one of the key players behind this, Aidan, down to DRIFT. Expect to hear everything from jazzy Balearic to dreamy shoegaze!

Tension /
Finally, rounding off proceedings, we're bringing across co-head Tension for a showcase of the weird and wonderful side of UK club and bass music. His album In Cascade is a genuine undiscovered gem of the last few years, bringing ambient soundscapes together with glitchy percussion and beautiful melodies to create a real listening experience. Don't miss this one!

22:00 - Close
At this point in the night, we'll be clearing more of a dance floor and the listening lab will be transformed into something more. Absolutely no pressure for those who don't want to stay this late, we hope you can find what you're after in the earlier sets! Expect all DJs to jump on at this point for a real varied mix of tracks.

Free entry all night, alongside a carefully arranged listening experience complete with plants, mood lights and comfortable seating. Get down early to guarantee a seat!
