The Marinduque State University Office of the President continued its Binhi ng Kalikasan: Coastal Clean-Up and Environmental Stewardship Initiative through a coastal clean-up activity held on September 8, 2026, in Pili, Boac, Marinduque, in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Marinduque and Rotary Club Marinduque Premier.
The activity was joined by the students from the Marinduque State UniversityโStudent Volunteers (MarSU-SV) and League of Scholars and Grantees (MarSU-LSG), which included a few students from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), together with Maโam Alchona Wayne Maigting-Labaguis, Presidential Assistant for Special Projects and Advocacy Program and Student Volunteer Adviser; personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Marinduque, local officials, and community partners. Participants cleaned the area and collected waste materials and ensured their proper disposal to help maintain a clean and sustainable coastal environment.
The initiative not only supports the universityโs commitment to sustainable development and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but also highlights the importance of collective action in protecting the environment and maintaining clean coastal areas. It further fosters cooperation among participating groups in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability.
