What an amazing 3 days at the Canadian Public Health Association Conference held in Winnipeg MB.
We were able to make new contacts and further the dialogue on the tainted recreational drug supply killing our youth.
Educating health providers and officials on our new approach in dealing with a much neglected demographic of citizens dying in the opioid crisis... Recreational Users.
Our message was received and I'm very excited in pushing forward in this new approach in delivering the much needed messaging targeted towards social drug users about the dangers of Fentanyl Poisoning.

More than ever we need an all inclusive Awareness and Prevention campaign to the dangers of tainted drugs that are not only affecting addicts but killing recreational drug users as well.

White pills sold as hydromorphone found to contain nitazine, a high-potency synthetic opioid that is considered to be much stronger than fentanyl. Pills were white and three-sided, with “DD” and “8” markings.

Naloxone does work on nitazine but may require more doses than usual. Nitazine is difficult to detect through standard drug checking or strips.

This week was supposed to be about educating myself on the policies being announced by all three parties and letting each Federal leader know about No Thanks I'm Good campaign, each receiving a t-shirt and Harlan's postcard outlining the campaign.
Things were going as planned, Saturday got to the conservative rally and gave Pierre Poilievre a T-shirt that was my son on the postcard.
Then the Liberals announced a rally for Tuesday and off I went again, materials in hand to present to the Liberal leader Mark Carney. This seemed challenging a rally to get into than the conservatives, because for the liberals you had to pre-register, I did not know therefore I did not pre-register. But that did not stop me from lobbying my way in. And then I get asked to stand on the podium behind with No Thanks I'm Good for all the cameras to see. To make it even better, I was standing next to his wife and gave her a postcard and t-shirt and spoke in depth what we do at the Singing Red Bear Foundation.
My plans were to be there for the NDP rally, but the creator had a different plan and I struck down in a pedestrian/vehicle accident, where my hip needed to be reconstructed (I was the Pedestrian).
So there went my opportunity to meet Jagmeet Singh and introduce him to the No Thanks I'm Good campaign and Singing Red Bear Foundation and my son's story.
I wanted to do this because I believe that Canada needs a national drug initiative warning that it is not just the addict that is dying, recreational drug use is not safe from Fentanyl Poisoning. Fentanyl does not discriminate and doesn't care what party you support.
Hopefully one of these parties pick up the ball
