🚨 🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Speaks From Sokoto Prison After Visit by Brother and Lawyer
Prince Emmanuel Kanu and Dr. Maxwell Opara have confirmed that they met with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the Sokoto Medium Security Prison.
During the visit, Kanu alleged that his conviction has no legal foundation, insisting that no one can be convicted under a repealed law. He also claimed that his final written address—centred on fair hearing—was denied.
Kanu further stated that the evidence used to convict him was never listed in the charge sheet nor presented in court, adding that the judgment relied on struck-out charges from Justice Binta Nyako, which he described as a major judicial flaw.
He said that after carefully reviewing the judgment, he identified several errors that, in his view, invalidate the trial. He urged Nigerian justices, magistrates, and lawyers to examine the ruling and uphold the Constitution.
Kanu also questioned why favourable rulings from the Umuahia High Court, Enugu Court of Appeal, United Nations, and even the Supreme Court—confirming that the laws used against him were repealed—were ignored.
He thanked all individuals who have publicly condemned what they consider an injustice.
Kanu reaffirmed:
“I, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, reject injustice and evil against anyone, no matter their tribe, faith, or ethnic background. Injustice to me is injustice everywhere.”
He ended by thanking supporters for their prayers and goodwill:
“Elohim bless you all.”
