Get • .dixon.writes A few dates locked in for Melbourne. It’s starting to get a bit hectic as we step on to that slippery slide that rushes us all through to the end of the year. I’ve got my fingers crossed that in the new year I can get out and visit a few other places as well.

Jo’s third novel, , hits shelves Tuesday 28 October and we’ll be celebrating with her that night in Hobart as she chats with fellow Tassie author Karen Brooks ✨

Here we are with the lovely Leearna Shaw (.shaw.author) and we were so thrilled to catch up with her! We absolutely love meeting writers and authors, especially when they’re listeners of The Word Count! 💛

We even shared the news about Jacq’s publication deal with her before it aired on the podcast. Thanks for keeping our secret, Leearna! 🥰

Leearna will be published by in 2026 and 2027, and she writes heartfelt stories about strong women fighting for their futures — and finding love along the way.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the seven writers who will be joining us for The Word Count’s very first writing retreat in March 2026! 🎉✍️

After receiving so many heartfelt applications, we wanted to make the selection as fair as possible - so, aside from our scholarship recipient, the places were chosen by ballot.
