Bagh farmer launches hunger strike over vet negligence
Danish Abbasi, a resident of Chaman Kot, said that his buffalo fell seriously ill in the last week of July.

CHAMAN KOT: A farmer from Chaman Kot in western Bagh, Azad Kashmir, staged a hunger strike after the death of his buffalo, which he claims was caused by negligence at the government veterinary hospital.

Danish Abbasi, a resident of Chaman Kot, said that his buffalo fell seriously ill in the last week of July. The animal was his only source of income. According to Abbasi, he contacted the government-run veterinary hospital, but despite seeking help, the treatment provided was delayed or inadequate, which he believes led to the animal’s death.

Deeply upset by the loss, Abbasi brought the deceased buffalo to the main market of Chaman Kot in protest. However, he said no government official responded to his demonstration. After burying the buffalo, he began a hunger strike on July 27, following a formal notice to the authorities.

On the second day of his hunger strike, the Tehsildar of Dheerkot, Syed Zamir Hussain Shah, visited Abbasi’s protest camp along with his staff. The official promised to take necessary action within 15 days and convinced Abbasi to end his hunger strike.

Speaking to local reporters, Abbasi clarified that he did not begin the hunger strike for personal gain. He said his protest was driven by a deeper concern — the negligence within public service departments and the lack of accountability.

He added that people often accept such incidents as fate, calling them “God’s will,” when in fact many are caused by human negligence. “There are no accidents in God’s system — what we call fate is often the result of carelessness,” Abbasi said.

دانش کی بھینس : چند دن پہلے چمن کوٹ کے ایک فرد دانش عباسی کی بھینس بقول انکے محکمہ حیوانات کے اہل کاروں کی غفلت سے مر گئی ۔دانش کو اسے امر ربی سمجھ کر خاموش ہو جانا چاھیے تھا اللا اللا خیر سلا لیکن دانش نے ایسا نہیں کیا اس لیے کہ بھینس کا مرنا ایک حادثہ تھا جسکے پیچھے کوئ نہ کوئ غفلت تھی۔ خدا کے نظام میں حادثات نہیں ہوتی بلکہ یہ انسانی غفلت ھوتی ھے جو حادثات کی صورت اختیار کر لیتی ہے اور ھم اسے امر ربی سمجھ کر صبر و شکر کرکے بیٹھ جاتے ہیں ۔ چمنِ کوٹ میں دانش عباسی نے ایک مثال قائم کردی ہے ورنہ اس سے قبل حادثات کا شکار ھو جانے والے انسانوں کو بھی لوگ نہایت خاموشی سے رخصت کردیا کرتے تھے ۔حالانکہ معاملات تحقیق کے متقاضی ہوا کرتے تھے اور ذمہ داروں کا تعین وقت کا تقاضا ہوتا تھا ۔خود میں نے کئی ایسے جنازوں میں شرکت کی جہاں مرنے والے کسی کی غفلت کا شکار ہو کر دنیا سے رخصت ہوئے تھے ۔دانش کا اقدام ایک اجتماعی دانش کا اظہار ہے ۔یہ ایک احتجاج ہے سرکاری اداروں کے اندر بیٹھے ھوے نااھل افراد کے خلاف ۔پورے غربی باغ کو بلکہ پورے آزاد کشمیر کو دانش کے احتجاج کو اپنا احتجاج سمجھنا چاہیے وہ اپنی بھینس کے لیے نہیں بلکہ چاھتے ھوے یا نہ چاھتے ہوے سب کی طرف سے احتجاج کررہا ہے ۔یہ اس وقت ایک اکیلے دانش کا احتجاج ہے کل یہ پورے غربی باغ بلکہ پورے آزاد کشمیر کا احتجاج بن جاے گا ۔بدلتی ہوئ رتوں کو دیکھو ۔دانش عباسی کے دکھ درد میں شریک ھونے سعادت حاصل ہونے پر فخر محسوس کرتا ہوں
