Whether you liked Ifeanyi Ubah or not, he was a very good man by many standards. His loss is indeed a huge one, not only for his immediate family and Nnewi Community, but also for the Igbo race and Nigeria at large. Many of us may not like him because of his political affiliations, but this does not take away what he represented while he was alive.
He was a huge personality, a philanthropist and generous benefactor to many people. He empowered countless of people, including people I know in person. He provided employment opportunities for hundreds and hundreds of people, built Houses for the poor, provided food and clothing for the needy and did many things for many people. He was responsible for the medical expenses of countless of people and provided capital and resources to Entrepreneurs, while also giving counsel and support to Businesses.
Should I talk about the many young men he took under his mentorship, sponsored on trips abroad, sent to trainings and built in persons? His romance with football, and the acquisition of Ifeanyi Ubah FC also helped to provide succor and foundation to many talented footballers. He also brought collaborations with such a European Club as West Ham United.
Late Ifeanyi also helped the Churches around him and beyond, did his best to take care of Priests and Pastors, and donated generously and massively at different places. In addition to that, he provided huge support in the area of health, and worked tirelessly towards providing huge resources for the security of the lives and properties of his people and the Anambra community.
Ifeanyi Ubah was humility personified. He allowed many young people into his inner circle and didn't discriminate between the rich and poor. He left his door open to many, regardless of his status.
His death is like the falling of the proverbial Iroko Tree, with many birds scattering into confusion in the thick forest.
It seems like a life cut short in its prime, with a lot of more dreams and opportuni
