A Housewarming Ceremony by the EFF: A Display of Ubuntu

A solemn housewarming ceremony was held today in Seshego for the newly built and fully furnished house of Ntate Sello Mamabolo, a disabled beneficiary. The ceremony was officiated by the EFF President, Julius Malema, who delivered a formal address that left the residents feeling overwhelmed with love and happiness.

Malema declared that the house now belongs to Ntate Sello, signifying the completion of the EFF's mission. He expressed his contentment, stating that if he were to pass away tomorrow, he would do so with the peace of mind that he had provided a disabled individual with a fully furnished home. A laptop will also be delivered tomorrow to a learner who had requested it from Malema.

During his address, Malema highlighted the critical issue of food security, urging the community to engage in agriculture to ensure a steady supply of healthy food. He cautioned that cancer can be caused by the food consumed under the current government, citing the unnatural growth rate of cows due to injections administered to accelerate their growth.

Malema also addressed the issue of substance abuse among children, urging parents to monitor their children's activities and finances to prevent them from engaging in harmful behaviors such as buying nyaope.

Furthermore, Malema implored the residents of Polokwane to vote for the EFF in 2026, asserting that it is the only way to eradicate corruption in the country. He criticized the ANC government for prioritizing prisoners over free citizens, citing the disparity in government spending between the two groups.

Malema concluded his address by emphasizing the importance of respecting all individuals, particularly the disabled, and restoring the dignity of Africans. He lamented the lack of a caring government that fails to ensure that disabled individuals have access to adequate housing.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan Wins Second Term Amid Unrest in Tanzania

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been declared the winner of Tanzania’s recent presidential election, securing an overwhelming 98% of the nearly 32 million votes cast. The electoral commission officially announced the results on Saturday morning, confirming her continuation in office under the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.

However, the election period has been marred by significant unrest across the country. Reports of violence have emerged, with hundreds reportedly dead and injured. The government has imposed a nationwide internet shutdown and extended curfews in an effort to control the turmoil. This shutdown has made it difficult for independent observers to verify the true scale of the unrest.

International observers have raised concerns over transparency and the fairness of the election process, highlighting the challenges Tanzania faces in its democratic journey. Meanwhile, the government continues to emphasize stability and order moving forward.

Typhoid Cases Rise in Tshwane’s Hammanskraal and Bronkhorstspruit

The City of Tshwane has reported an increase in typhoid cases, primarily affecting the dusty areas of Hammanskraal in the north and in Bronkhorstspruit. Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella Typhi, usually spread through contaminated food and water.

Recent water tests have not yet identified Salmonella Typhi in the drinking water, and no epidemiological link between the cases has been confirmed. The exact source of contamination remains unknown as investigations continue.

In a statement issued on 31 October 2025, the city assured residents that it is working closely with the Department of Health, Department of Water and Sanitation, and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases to find the root cause. Regular water quality monitoring upholds compliance with South African National Standards.

Residents are urged to avoid using untreated river or borehole water and to rely only on properly treated municipal water for drinking and cooking. This comes just two years after a deadly cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal, where the Rooiwal wastewater treatment plant was suspected as a major source of contamination.

Deadly Protests Erupt in Tanzania Following Contested Election.

Hundreds have reportedly died in Tanzania amid three days of violent protests after Wednesday’s general election, according to the main opposition party, Chadema. While the exact death toll is hard to verify due to a nationwide internet blackout, Chadema claims about 700 fatalities, and diplomatic sources suggest at least 500. The government disputes these figures, describing the unrest as isolated incidents and extending curfews to restore order.

Protests, largely driven by young people, erupted over allegations that the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, led by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, manipulated the election by sidelining key opposition figures. Opposition leaders face harassment, with some imprisoned or forced into exile. Meanwhile, hospitals in cities like Dar es Salaam report being overwhelmed with casualties.

International bodies, including the UN, and foreign diplomats have urged Tanzanian authorities to exercise restraint and respect democratic freedoms, as unrest continues amid claims of election fraud, particularly in Zanzibar. The ongoing turmoil has also disrupted travel and communications nationwide.

Deputy President Mashatile Clarifies Ramaphosa's Comments on DA Municipalities Amid EFF Criticism.

In a heated parliamentary session on October 30, Deputy President Paul Mashatile found himself defending President Cyril Ramaphosa's controversial remarks regarding the performance of DA-led municipalities. The comments, which suggested that African National Congress (ANC) councillors could learn from the clean audits of the City of Cape Town and Stellenbosch, have sparked significant debate within the political arena.

Mashatile addressed the issue during a question and answer session focused on municipal governance and policing, responding to inquiries from Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema. Malema pressed Mashatile on whether he believed that municipalities in the Western Cape represented the best model for governance, a question that has gained traction following Ramaphosa's earlier statements.

In September, while speaking to ANC councillors, President Ramaphosa remarked, “There’s nothing wrong with competition … [the best run municipalities] are often DA-controlled municipalities. We need to ask ourselves what it is that they are doing that is better than what we are doing.” He encouraged ANC members to examine the successful strategies employed by these municipalities, stating, “There’s nothing wrong with us saying we want to go and see what Cape Town is doing, what is Stellenbosch doing, how they craft everything.”

Mashatile's assertion that the President was "quoted out of context" aimed to mitigate the backlash from opposition parties, particularly the EFF, which has been vocal in its criticism of the ANC's governance. The Deputy President's comments come at a time when the ANC is under scrutiny for its management of local governments, with calls for reform and improvement in service delivery.

As the political discourse continues, the implications of Ramaphosa's comments and Mashatile's defense may influence the ANC's strategy in the lead-up to future elections, as the party seeks to regain public confidence in its governance capabilities. The ongoing debate highlights the challenges faced by the ANC in addressing its performance while navigating the competitive political landscape in South Africa.

Grand Vision Unveiled: The International Pentecost Holiness Church Dome Captivates Social Media.

In a stunning display of architectural brilliance, the International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) is making waves on social media with the recent circulation of images showcasing the nearly completed Dome, led by His Grace Comforter Michael Sandlana. The striking design has captured the attention of many, particularly on Facebook, where users have been sharing the architectural renderings in droves.

According to a report by the Daily Sun, the church celebrated a significant milestone on Sunday, September 25, 2022, with a ceremony marking the first phase of the Dome's construction. This ambitious project, valued at over R2.5 billion, is located in Kanana City, nestled between Heidelberg and Nigel in Gauteng Province. Once completed, the Dome is set to be the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, boasting a staggering capacity of 65,000 attendees.

While the Dome is still under construction, the architectural drawings circulating online have sparked widespread interest and excitement among the community. The IPHC has already made headlines earlier this year when the Dome hosted an impressive ceremony in April, where over 1,500 couples tied the knot in a single day, showcasing the venue's potential for large-scale events.

As the church continues to progress with the Dome's construction, many are left wondering: Is this the final destination for the IPHC, or are even bigger plans on the horizon? With the church's ambitious vision and the overwhelming support from its congregation, it seems that the journey is just beginning.

Residents Demand Better Services in March to Cape Town Civic Centre.

In a powerful display of unity, nearly 1,000 residents from Khayelitsha marched to the Cape Town Civic Centre on Thursday, voicing their frustrations over inadequate access to essential services in their community. The protest highlighted pressing issues such as pothole-riddled roads, malfunctioning toilets, and a lack of electricity, which have become daily challenges for the residents.

Captured the sentiments of the protesters, who expressed their desperation for basic amenities that many take for granted. “There would be nobody who would come here in these big numbers for fun,” stated Ndithini Tyhido, chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC) for the Dullah Omar region, who joined the march. “These people are here because they really do not have toilets where they stay. They do not have access to running water. The shacks in which they reside, there are no access roads.”

The protest comes in the wake of comments made by Deputy President Paul Mashatile, who criticized the Western Cape's governance model for municipalities, arguing that it neglects the needs of poorer communities. Mashatile's remarks were a response to President Cyril Ramaphosa's recent praise for the Democratic Alliance (DA)-run province, which has achieved a number of clean audits.

During a session in the National Assembly, Mashatile clarified that Ramaphosa’s comments were taken out of context, emphasizing that while audit outcomes may reflect financial governance, they do not address the socio-economic disparities faced by communities like Khayelitsha.

The Proposed Marriage Bill Faces Opposition from South African Public: A Formidable Formal Account

The recently unveiled Marriage Bill, which intends to consolidate three existing marriage laws into a single, comprehensive statute that acknowledges all forms of marriage, is currently undergoing a public consultation phase. This phase allows South African citizens to express their opinions on the proposed law through public hearings, the first of which took place in Knysna, Western Cape.

Mr. Mosa Chabane, the Chairperson of the Home Affairs committee, emphasized the significance of these hearings, stating, "Public hearings are not a mere tick-box exercise; they are a crucial platform to ensure that the voices of ordinary South Africans are heard and reflected in the laws passed by Parliament."

Despite the noble intentions of the Marriage Bill, which aims to recognize civil, customary, and religious unions regardless of sexual orientation, belief, or cultural practice, it has encountered resistance from various quarters. Members of the Muslim community in the Garden Route District Municipality have raised concerns over the proposed legislation.

The Muslim community members have expressed apprehension that the Bill may have unintended consequences, such as relegating Islamic marriages to human-made laws, which they believe would infringe upon their religious freedom. They argue that Islamic law is divinely ordained and that man-made laws, like the Marriage Bill, would violate their rights to religious freedom.

Additionally, participants have raised concerns over the provision that requires the first wife's written consent in polygamous marriages. They argue that this stipulation could undermine subsequent marriages, as Islamic law accords equal status and validity to all individual marriages in a polygamous setting.

South Africa 🇿🇦 G-Master Report
The Ad Hoc Committee, tasked with investigating allegations presented by the KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, during a meeting on Wednesday, has reduced the number of witnesses set to appear at its public hearings.

This decision follows the agreement that some witnesses would submit affidavits, while others will be postponed until a subsequent round of hearings, as the inquiry will conclude on November 28.

Initially, the evidence leaders were provided with a list of over 30 preferred witnesses to be scheduled for testimony.

Chief Evidence Leader, Advocate Norman Arendse, SC, stated that it was necessary to select witnesses to address the terms of reference of the committee.

Arendse further explained that some witnesses are relevant, but they can respond to questions in an affidavit.

"There are other witnesses who are not necessary or there is no need for them to provide us with information. The committee has sufficient information before it," he said.
