02.03.24 - CID in Shahat arrested a female of Nigerian nationality for theft. The accused stole money and valuables from different houses where she was employed as a domestic help. Following arrest she was referred to Shahat Security Directorate for legal action.

The Russian embassy in Tripoli has denied connection to the money printing factory in Benghazi suburbs. According to reports, the money factory is run by warlord Haftar’s family to print fake 50 dinar notes which they use to buy dollars from the black market. Last week, the Central Bank of said it was considering a decision to withdraw the 50 dinar banknote from circulation because of the existence of a fake version of this banknote.

27.02.24 - Cairo Police Dept. (Sabha) in response to report of pharmacy robbery arrested with assistance of taxi drivers 3 undocumented of Nigerien nationality responsible for the crime.The individuals were caught in Al-Tairy area while attempting to flee to Niger. Police was able to recover the stolen amount of 20,700 LYD (ca. 5,600 USD) and referred the accused to public prosecution in Sabha for legal action.

After a direct clash with the wanted men and their shooting at the army men..

An army detachment was able to storm a suspicious house and arrest the two invitees (M, S, A - A, A, D). They were seized with “3 kilograms” of hashish and a number of weapons, ammunition and hand grenades.
Based on arrest warrants issued by the Bani Walid Prosecution and in the presence of members of the prosecution.
They were referred to the prosecution to complete investigations.

During raid large quantity of hashish, hallucinogenic pills Tramadol and homemade liquor were seizedBoth individuals remain in custody pending referral to public prosecution.

24.11.23 - Department for Combating Drugs and Smuggling of Libyan Customs Authority arrested inside foreign workers' camp in Madinat Al-Zahra 2 Nigerian for drug trafficking and sale of home-made alcohol.During search officer found large quantities of hashish, Tramadol pills and alcohol. The accused were referred to Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Dept. for prosecution.
