China’s team left another heartbreaker on the fields—10-13 to —yet they pushed the game to the wire in a furious late rally. Massive respect to the Colombian squad for the masterclass and the memories. And can we just appreciate how cinematic team sports are? Every frame is a poster shot! Bronze slipped away by just 0.03 s, but Desak MADE RITA KUSUMA DEWI of Indonesia still blazed the second FASTEST time of the day—6.34 s—in Chengdu! 🥉➡️💨
I caught her moments after the race: the wall felt a touch slick, she said, yet it gave her the perfect tune-up for the battles ahead. Tomorrow and the day after, expect fireworks from this speed queen. Keep your eyes on the wall—Desak is far from done!

Silver flash on the wall in Chengdu! 🥈⚡️ I just spoke with Team USA’s Samuel Watsons after a heart-stopping men’s speed final. A tender shoulder slowed him just enough for China’s teenage rocket Chu Shouhong to blast to gold in 4.80 s—his new personal best too. Between the cheers, Sam told me: “That kid is next-level; the future just arrived.” No excuses, only respect and a promise to heal up fast. Congrats, Sam—see you higher and faster next round!

I just caught up with Kazakhstan’s sport climbing star Amir MAIMURATOV at the Chengdu World Games. Today a last-gasp hand-slip in the men’s speed quarter-finals cut his run short, yet the smile never left his face—he’s already refocused on tomorrow’s Men's Speed Single 4 and Men's Speed Relay. Remember the name: Amir was the first Kazakh climber ever to reach an Olympic quarterfinals, storming to 5th place in Paris last summer. 🇰🇿🏃‍♂️‍➡️🧗‍♂️ International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC)

Just spent the day inside # watching the mixed , and my notebook is full of more than scores.
• 95 & 95: Li Xue, China’s heartbeat, told me this tournament is already a national treasure.
• •The Canadian squad? Vacation days, hostels, and side-hustles; one told me he flew in after a night shift.
• Charlie from World Flying Disc Federation - WFDF & Ultiworld reminded me: for a sport still run on love, the World Games is the biggest canvas they’ll ever get.

No million-dollar contracts—just passion that flew farther than any disc I saw. Hit play to see why, in ultimate, simply stepping onto this field means you’ve already won.

✨ Just spent unforgettable days at the World Games courtside, watching the world’s best squash athletes battle for every point. Their verdict on Chengdu? “Electric crowds, flawless venues—this city is ready for anything.”

With squash making its Olympic debut in 2028, the buzz here is real. Players from every continent told me the same thing: the sport’s future is bright, but growth is uneven across regions. To understand what that means for China, I sat down with the President of the Beijing Squash Association—his insights on grassroots programs and upcoming talent are 🔥.

The World Games have always been the launchpad for Olympic dreams. If what I saw this week is any sign, squash is about to explode on the global stage. See you in LA 2028! 🌏🏆 World Squash Federation Squash Suroccidente Colombia

Bronze brilliance in Chengdu! 🥉
Spain’s Marta DOMINGUEZ stormed past Hong Kong, China’s Ho Tze Lok in the women’s singles 3rd-place playoff to claim her first-ever World Games medal—and the smile on her face says it all.

“Competing here felt just like the Olympics,” Marta raved. “Everything from the venues to the volunteers was world-class. I can’t wait to come back!”

Marta, the city already misses your fire. See you again soon! World Squash Federation

What a match! 🏆🇨🇴 39-year-old legend Miguel Rodriguez dug deep to clinch bronze in the men’s singles 3rd-place playoff at the Chengdu World Games, outplaying Switzerland’s Dimitri Steinmann in a thriller.

After the final point, the Colombian wizard couldn’t hide his joy.

Only one regret? The packed schedule kept him from staying longer in Chengdu—and, yes, missing a visit to the Panda Park was “a real shame.” 🐼💔

Congrats, Miguel—your fighting spirit inspires us all. Next time, may the pandas wait for you! World Squash Federation Squash Suroccidente Colombia

For the first time ever, the World Games Village threw a birthday party for a champion.

At 8:30 p.m. on August 9, the “Rhythm of Tianfu” cultural show was in full swing on the village’s interactive stage. Among the spectators was freshly crowned tug-of-war champion Richard Keightley of Great Britain. Mid-performance, the band struck up “Happy Birthday,” and the crowd joined in—because he is turning 72.

With 54 years of tug-of-war experience under his belt, Richard clinched gold on the very day he celebrated another trip around the sun. Visibly moved, he told everyone present, “This is the happiest day of my life—Chengdu is now my city of happiness.”

I rolled my first paper coil today—messy, 5/10.
The coach beside me, Wang Linjiang (35, 130 cm tall), laughed: “Again.”

Two hours later I’d fought my way up to 8/10, but the real flex was on the table next to mine: the very mascots and emblem that will greet the world at the Chengdu World Games—hand-quilled by this crew of badass disabled artisans.

Strip by strip they turn limitation into licensed merch, paychecks into pride.
Watch them roll “impossible” right off the page.

August 9 — my very first live tug-of-war day at the Chengdu World Games!
Men’s 640 kg final was pure electricity: raw power from the young guns, ice-cold strategy from the veterans, and smiles across every age line.
Huge congrats to Team UK for edging out Switzerland, Germany taking bronze, and big respect to Belgium, Netherlands, and Chinese Taipei for the epic pulls.
Who knew rope + grit could feel this powerful, friendly, and downright enjoyable? Can’t wait for the next clash! The Tug of War Association - England

📸 Just spent an electrifying Day 1 at the Chengdu World Games! I caught up courtside with Spain’s Marta DOMINGUEZ right after she defeated China’s Cheng Linglu—what a debut!

Squash is sprinting toward the Olympic spotlight in 2028, and the buzz here is unreal: every ticket sold out before the first serve.

Fun fact: many Chinese team members swapped racquets—from badminton or tennis—to chase Olympic dreams. The chase is on, and the future feels fierce.
