PLEASE READ AND SHARE. I NEED YOUR HELP.
Dan here. This is my friend Rich. He lives in Sweden. He has ME as well as a host of other conditions including a spinal fluid leak in the brain, siderosis, a cancerous tumour behind his ear and APS, an autoimmune condition which causes blood clots in his body. Due to the combination of conditions he is experiencing ongoing brain damage and is at serious risk of death. He's currently on a stroke ward in a hospital in Stockholm and due to have an MRI scan soon. Rich's ME means that it is excruciating for him to be on this ward, due to sensory overload but he has no where else to go as he's from the West Coast of Sweden. There is a slight chance his rare condition can be treated in Stockholm however the only unit that has any real track record in this is in Germany and there are currently financial barriers to him going there. I am going out to Stockholm very soon and putting my dusty social work hat on to advocate and kick ass on his behalf. I have been given money towards flights, cheap accommodation and renting a car, however what I really need to do is get him out of the hospital to a calm and quiet environment between tests and treatment. This is going to mean booking a twin hotel room or air bnb where we can control his sensory needs. I don't currently have enough money for this and am not really in a position to put this on my credit card although I will if I need to. If you have any spare money at all to help me help reduce Rich's suffering, please message me. It may be that I end up driving Rich home across Sweden to die in peace. He has a lot of trauma associated with hospitals. I know I'm taking on a huge task myself as my own ME is steadily improving but he has no support whatsoever, as often happens when you've lived with ME for so long. I can't not go and help him. It falls on me to do this and if it happens while I'm there, then it will be a privilege to be with him as he dies. My PayPal is [email protected].

Hello lovely people.
Hi Dan here. Sorry its been all quiet from Pempod. We've been on an extended break due to me having a mental health crisis in the spring. Over the last six weeks or so I've been rebuilding my life. My physical health has seen some improvement which has continued from steady progress over the last year. I recently got my first tattoo which is a circle with a tiny piece missing. This is to remind me to live with imperfection. I'm busy setting up a small business and hope to manage this alongside managing my ME. For the last 7 years I've had a dream to go on a little adventure and to meet ME Internet friends in real life as well as see friends I haven't seen in many years. So from tomorrow and for the next week and a half I'll be going all over the place from Nottingham, to Leicestershire, Peterborough and Coventry, Scunthorpe and Harrogate. If you've read this far, would you like me to record some audio reflections of my adventure from the perspective of someone who's seeing some improvement in ME for the podcast? I don't know how long this improvement will last and I don't know if I'll crash half way through and wonder how I'll get home but I'm confident I can manage this at the moment.
