I used to live alone in a 350sq ft studio apartment
(advertised as one bedroom because the room is
very well separated). I was a block in from the
ocean and would wake up, roll over in bed, and
experience amazing sunrises over the ocean.l
also had a little lake directly across the street. I
now live in a larger apartment on the 12th floor. I
still have an ocean view but instead of being a
block away from the boardwalk, I'm about half a
mile in and can only see the ocean because l'm so
high up. I'm not complaining, trust me, because
any ocean view is amazing, but I will NEVER forget
my little beach apartment. I had a ton of plants
and I always said it felt like I lived in a fairy's house
in the trees. Here are a few photos of it. Most of
my furniture was found on the curb on bulk trash
pick up days in various towns

Today I was waiting in line an hour before the start of an estate sale to sign in for a number, I was #12. My mission was this swan painting. It wasn’t in the living room so I frantically ran around the house till I found it in a bedroom. At least two people expressed regret/envy that I got there first. The frame alone is stunning. I am an ecstatic thrifter today!
Pie crust table also thrifted. The spider plant a cutting from my realtor’s 50-year-old plant, given to me the day we found our house after a year’s search.
Excuse the messy chair seat, missing resident kitty probably on squirrel patrol at the backyard sliding glass door.
There was another piece of art where the swans now reside. I moved the pie crust table from across the room. Now I’m looking at the Ikea chair and ottoman and thinking I may need to thrift a different seating situation.

Recently went through a separation and quit my job at the same time. Moved in with some friends and started the journey of finding a new place. I found this space and instantly fell in love but it was unliveable.
Made a deal with the landlord to do the renovations (had a VERY small budget) in exchange for discounted rent.
It’s almost done (need backsplash, couple paint spots, etc. but guys, I did it!!' - By Courtney Schagena. This is beyond inspiring!!
