ANOTHER wine blog? Wait, another VIRGINIA wine blog?! Well, let me start by thanking you for getting this far into my sometimes cynical, snarky, overly aggressive, often times fair, occasionally enlightening, but most of the time good-natured banter. That being said, here is a little background on who I am and why I decided I would further add to your wine blog scene with my insight on what has be
come the most enjoyable hobby of my life. I am in no way a professional writer. Let me repeat, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL WRITER. In fact, if viewed by any of my past teachers and professors, some of my articles, reviews, and blog postings would most likely get me slapped, laughed at, or asked to step away from writing for the foreseeable future. Got it? Good. I’m merely a 29 year old, Network Engineer/Business Development & Marketing professional, with a borderline obsessive attachment to wine, grapes, vineyards, cheese, and everything wine-related. You should also know that beginning in January 2011, I had never visited a winery or vineyard. That being said, I am just a normal guy, sharing my opinions and experiences with other wine lovers, and hopefully make some friends along the way! I originally had no intention of starting a blog as I already have enough commitments and distractions, but realized that this could be the only real way to track my obsession in a sensible manner. For me, visiting a winery is more than just paying a couple of bucks to get a few pours of various offerings from the respective pioneers. It’s about atmosphere, the tasting room, the entertainment, the staff, the views, the locations, the food, the pairings, and, of course, the wine. So if I come across something note worthy at a vineyard, chances are I’m going to blog about it.
