A beautiful collection of lost and forgotten live performances from folk music influenced project called Wells & Watson has recently been unearthed.
Mosquito Hawk Exquisite Recordings is proud to announce that the label will be releasing a special edition CD and an ultra special edition Vinyl release including thirteen tracks recorded live between 2019 and 2020. Songs include originals written by Wells & Watson for Cricketbows as well as covers of songs from The Beatles, The Monkees, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Glenn Danzig and more.
Both the CD and Vinyl will come with a booklet of photographs, video stills, setlists and memories from the era.
Wells & Watson are a singer/songwriter duo featuring the co-lead vocalists Rev. Chad Wells and Aarika Voegele Watson of the psychedelic band Cricketbows, the new wave flavored modern goth band New Way Vendetta, and the horror-punk and shock-rock influenced band The Creepy Crawlers.
From Wells:
"While Cricketbows was going through some growing pains and having trouble booking gigs, Aarika and I decided to strike off as an acoustic duo and continue our musical journey as Wells & Watson instead of waiting around on the other musicians we were working with at the time."
"We played a bunch of shows; private corporate gigs, house parties, pizza joints and 100 year old churches. The whole time we recorded every show on our trusty Zoom R24 digital recorder.
And then the whole world shut down." said Wells.
Wells continued, "Time passed and we were stuck inside forever. When we crawled back out of the hole and the world around us resumed, there were many projects we had started that just withered and died or had morphed into entirely new vehicles. Wells & Watson and all of those recordings, was just simply forgotten - until I decided to make some room on the Zoom's SD card to do a new podcast."
