We've also got a few choice words for WNBA players thinking about going on strike. Ladies, get a grip.

"THE FASTEST SHOW IN SPORTS": College Football Future & WNBA Cash Curve

Keeping in mind it's all about the money in college sports at the moment, just like it is in every other endeavor, we're taking on a number of issues in college sports, specifically college football. The creation of the new era "Have and Have Nots", why all the squabbling between Conferences will soon be rendered useless, the reality of how few teams have any realistic shot at a National Title, and the resurrection of under the table payoffs is not coming soon, it's already here.

Ed Berliner and veteran college football analyst John Fricke take the deep dive in this full-length VIDEO episode of "The Fastest Show in Sports", while beginning the show with a few choice words for WNBA players that are guaranteed to rankle more than a few people. It's all about growing pains, minions.

There's a scene In the media broadcast business that is often repeated in many other industries.

When ownership/management decides to fire someone, it comes as swift as an attack in the night. People show up for work as usual, might even be already at work preparing for their assignments, when they are told the boss wants to see them for a moment. Into the office or meeting they go, told they are being "released" or the laughable standard line, "we've deiced to make a change". Next thing they know, a company individual or security es**rts them to their desk, watches as they box up belongings to ensure they're not "stealing", take all their company ID and then es**rt the out the door. It's humiliating, as it happens in front of co-workers.

You're off the air, and no longer have an outlet to express any displeasure. That's the thinking, that the person released would fly off the handle and use any remaining on-air time to disparage the company and rail against their firing. At a moment when someone is in seconds deciding the rest of their careers, management believed these people would go scorched Earth and slam the company while destroying their own futures. Rarely did that ever happen.

In a time when Paramount/CBS is imploding before our eyes as they take the knee to Donald Trump and happily hand off $16M in extortion money, their management made a key mistake.

They allowed Stephen Colbert to remain on their airwaves, giving him almost a year to use humor and hard-edged commentary to bury Paramount. He has nothing to be concerned about professionally, as he will likely thrive when all is said and done. I'm told there already are people working behind the scenes to assist staff of the show to find new positions. In a fracturing broadcast media world, there are numerous avenues for their futures. None, of course, are guaranteed.

Which brings up another line of company insult in these cases. The likely new owner of Paramount/CBS properties is a company called Skydance. Thru the grapevine, I'm told there already have been the verbal assurances to many people that when the sale is done, Skydance won't be mass firing people and will give them the chance to keep their jobs.

A greater pile of steaming bu****it has never existed. Every time new management comes in, they slice and dice and eviscerate careers, mostly for cost savings but also to bring in "their" people, the ones who will do the bidding without question. Everyone on "The Late Show" staff knows or has been warned about the stench. They are all, if they're smart, acting under the premise that one way or another, their dust. That, and in the current media era, they would be foolish to try and hang on with Paramount, as they know they cannot be trusted and they will already be carrying around a black mark on their records. There's also zero reason to trust Skydance, with no allegiances.

Which brings us back to Colbert, who took the stage last night and began his "farewell tour". He didn't just scorch the Earth, he imploded the ground under his feet and let it all fly, a preview of what we'll be witnessing from him in the months to come. If Paramount thought having him on a string was the best move for their image and the image of what will soon be a property they no longer care about, were they ever wrong. I can only imagine the conversations with Skydance at the moment, as they prepare to likely own a shattered and despised property.

If what happened last night was any real preview, this could be the most entertaining time ever for a genre that is on life support and won't soon be with us any longer. This was, honestly, brilliant and biting commentary, making Colbert's final months and days absolutely "must see TV".

Paramount may have even planned this, as the best way to siphon off as much money as they could before the deal is done. After all, they are little more than corporate scum in the first place.

Catch the video here. Brilliant.

Colbert torches Trump, CBS, and Paramount in a surreal kiss cam parody with Weird Al, Lin-Manuel, and cartoon Trump hugging the Paramount logo.

Forget the red carpet nonsense and the ridiculous so-called awards. With comedian Shane Gillis as MC, this years ESPYs proved how terrible we've become at taking a joke and laughing at ourselves.

OK. Take a breath. Please take this advice.

Cut out the time one evening, one rainy afternoon, whenever. Find the time. Do yourself the favor.

Watch this "Frontline" report, before Donald Trump & his band of anarchists complete their takeover of the American rule of law and the Constitution. It is factual, without hyperbole, without the flash and trash. I speaks with those who understand that America is sliding down a terrible slippery slope.

We're in trouble, and it's time for everyone to understand the urgent need of understanding the politics of what is at play. It has, and will, reach into every facet of every life.

Be informed. Be knowledgeable. Be smart.

FRONTLINE goes inside the high-stakes showdown between President Donald Trump and the courts over presidential power.

America is a much darker place today than it was a few years ago, and part of the reason is because we're overloaded with far too many overly-sensitive wankers who can't take a joke and can't laugh at themselves. The ESPYs monologue from Shane Gillis proved it, with social media all up in arms about him "insulting" people with humor. Get a life, willya?

Donald Trump uses everything at his fingertips as a distraction from really important issues, and this time he's using college athletics and their fans as suckers. Trump wants the Federal government to get involved in the employment status of athletes, which is interesting when he's supposedly all about getting government out of people's lives. Not this time. It's an easy target, and it's complete nonsense.

AUDIO PODCAST TIME for the latest episode of "The Fastest Show in Sports".

The recent demise of shows on FS1, and the agreement to have the often insulting Barstool Sports in house, is yet another indicator of a network playing to the lowest common denominator in the younger white male demographics, who always seem to be pining for a fight. This while a number of MLB owners have proven yet again they don't give a spit about the fans so long as they keep swiping those credit cards. Local TV sports has gone the way of the dodo, while President Donald Trump has gone the way of playing everyone for suckers as he swoops in to "rescue" college sports.

Sports fans, don't think you're alone here. Social media platforms such as Facebook are filled with ridiculous nonsense designed to fool and get you to click. Here's a prime example where Brad Marchand of the Florida Panthers was used to reel you in, and of course, plenty of people fell for it. WHY???

Ed Berliner is joined by veteran sports columnist and author Mike Wise and Award winning veteran sports journalist Helene Elliott for a take that will no doubt leave more than a few people ashamed of being suckered in to the nonsense.

Greetings, True Believers.

I’ve opened broadcasts with those words for quite some time. It’s a leftover from my comic book days and love for anything Stan Lee touched.

What a run it has been and continues to be. Covering sports and news since I was 19. Starting 7 cable networks both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. CEO of 3 production companies that worked around the world. Gathering knowledge, friends, stories and ideas that I get to share with viewers, listeners, and audiences in every walk of life.

My career has allowed me to witness first hand the highs and lows of personal and professional achievement. Over the years, I have stumbled and succeeded as well, all teaching me the things I need to better understand life from every angle.

I fell in love with broadcasting by listening to the likes of Cousin Brucie, Dan Ingram, Jim Quinn, Howard Cosell, Pat Summerall, and so many others. I’m an anchor, reporter, host, actor, voiceover performer, writer, author, and someone who pokes the figurative bear every now and then in my writings and social media. All of this comes to the fore when I work with you as a media consultant, media trainer, media buyer, producer, director, manager, keynote and guest speaker. I love to talk about my craft and share stories.
