Minnesota has legalized recreational ma*****na, allowing adults 21 and older to possess and grow it. However, full-scale retail sales won't commence until 2025, as the state establishes regulations. Two tribal nations in northwestern Minnesota, Red Lake Nation and White Earth Nation, plan to open dispensaries this month under tribal sovereignty.
Dennis Buchanan, owner of The THC Joint in Minneapolis, anticipates selling ma*****na only by 2025 but expects increased demand for accessories. Minnesota has allowed drinks, gummies, and candies with up to 5 milligrams of hemp-derived THC since last year.
Retailers can now sell ma*****na seeds if they meet Minnesota Department of Agriculture requirements, sparking high demand.
Adults can grow up to eight cannabis plants at home, with a maximum of four flowering, in an enclosed space.
They can possess 2 ounces of cannabis flower, 8 grams of concentrate, 800 milligrams of THC-containing edibles, and up to 2 pounds of cannabis at home.
Federal law still bans transporting ma*****na from outside the state and prohibits cannabis consumers from owning fi****ms or ammunition. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives considers ma*****na users "unlawful users," making gun ownership illegal.
As Minnesota enters this new era, legal complexities persist. 🌿🌟
