I love being nice, it makes everyone feel good 🫶🏼✌🏼

Just FYI: if I compliment you, I mean it.

I’m not being nice.

I’m not trying to gain favor with you, or flatter you.

I’m not running for elected office.

I’m not saying one thing with a smile and then turning around and being all “that’s the ugliest effing skirt I’ve ever seen.

I quit people pleasing a long time ago, so if I compliment you in any way shape or form, I truly truly mean it.

I love to lift people up, but I have no room in me to be faking anything, so if I compliment you, I hope you take it and hold it close, because it came from the heart.

A little Monday inspiration: 💜

Not everyone will support you and that’s okay! What’s important is if you’re happy. Remember, it’s YOUR life. Don’t make choices because of other peoples judgment. A lot of the time people talk about what you’re doing because they’re too scared to take the jump, miserable in their own life or jealous. Life is too precious to worry about what someone will say. So do the the thing. Change your job, go back to school, open that business, change your hair, do that thing on social media you’ve been wanting to do, put the decorations up early. If it makes YOU happy, DO IT. If someone truly loves and supports you, they won’t judge you. Remember, it’s better to be different and happy than judgmental and miserable. Regret doing something, don’t regret NOT doing it. Because if you don’t try, you’ll never know what could’ve been.

We only live once and our time here isn’t promised. Live every day like it could be your last and just simply live. Make your life yours! Do what makes YOU happy. 🫶🏼🙌🏼

Let me tell you something…

You’re never going to understand why they did what they did.

It’s never going to make sense to you. You’re never going to be able to fathom it or wrap your mind around it. You’re not built that way.

Stop trying to rationalize things that will never be reasonable. By all means give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they’re broken. Maybe they’re acting out of trauma or pain. You can always give grace.

But they still chose something you wouldn’t choose, and no matter how much you pick at it and turn it over and over in your mind, you’re never going to understand. Your core values just don’t align.

And thank goodness.

Because you don’t want to be them, and deep down you know that. You want to be you. You need to be you so try not to get stuck on asking yourself “but how could they?” “Where did I go wrong? Why would they do this?”

The actions of an unhealthy person will rarely make sense to a healthy one, so please don’t contort yourself, twist yourself or trip over yourself trying to understand their heart. Please don’t drop the things that truly matter because you’re grabbing at sand and most of all, please don’t waste one second of your precious time and energy trying to figure it out.

You’re not perfect and you know it, but you’re willing to clean up your side of the street. You’re willing to be humble and teachable. You’re willing to listen and do better going forward. Not everyone is built that way. They’re just not.

It’s one of the hardest things: to release people without closure, to forgive people without apologies, to let go of memories that haunt you, but analyzing it doesn’t work all the time and there isn’t any benefit either.

Sometimes it’s a difference of heart and as painful as it is, you’ve got to accept what is without ever receiving a “why.”

It’s their mess.

Leave it with them, prop your feet up and go live your life.

Hello friends! Long time no see! Happy July!

My brain is always a million miles a minute and I struggle to stay consistent with some things, this being one of them! But that’s one thing I’m working on is learning how to efficiently balance all the things I want to do/get done on a regular basis! Here’s to constantly learning and growing!
