See you soon Japan 🇯🇵💔

Here’s our last photo dump from this trip. 3 days in Nagano, then 2 nights in Tokyo to catch a flight to Europe.

These are the places that we visited this time in a bit over 3 weeks:

📍Fukuoka
📍Miyakojima (Okinawa)
📍Ishigaki (Okinawa) with a day trip to Iriomote Island
📍Tokyo with day trips to Hakone and Mt. Takao
📍Nagano with a day trip to the Snow Monkey Park

Japan is addictive, and for our next trip, we are thinking about finally exploring Hokkaido and more parts of Kyushu. Do you guys have any other recommendations for us?

We finished posting our Japan series on YouTube, so make sure to check all the videos out if you haven’t already 💖

The “80% rule” is the only rule we like to break while we’re in Japan 😂

This practice of stopping eating when you are about 80% full, rather than until you are completely stuffed, has been linked to the great longevity rates of Japanese people. Especially in the Okinawa region.

But we have to say that following this practice is really hard for most travelers. Food is basically an attraction in Japan. And most people want to eat and try new foods as much as possible.

So at least for us, we were not able to stay on the 80% mark with any meal 😂 How about you guys?

The good thing is that at least we were walking many steps every day, so we were burning a lot of calories.

It’s Carol’s birthday 🥳 and this year she decided to do something different. We never really ask for anything here (rather than like and subscribe hehe) but this time as her “birthday gift”, Carol would love if you guys could help some charity projects that we know and follow for awhile. We will leave the details below so if any of you are able to help, you can choose one, or maybe even both charities.

📌 Option 1: Help the island of Palawan (Philippines) recover from the recent big destruction of Typhoon Tino. As you guys know, we’ve spent months in El Nido (located in Palawan) during the lockdown and since then the island has a very special place in our hearts. Unfortunately, in the beginning of this month a very strong typhoon hit the Philippines causing big destruction. Palawan was heavily affected and the locals need help. For more details, please check on Instagram.

📌 Option 2: Barkada animal shelter. This is a non-profit organization in Camiguin Island, Philippines. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world, cats and dogs still suffer from neglect, starvation, homelessness, and abuse. It breaks our heart every time we see that during our travels. The aim of Barkada animal shelter is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats from the beautiful island of Camiguin. For more details, please check .ph on Instagram.

Getting some help for these charities will make us very happy, and it will be Carol’s perfect birthday gift! And if you can’t make a monetary donation, sharing about these projects will already be a big help :)

As always, thank you so much for the support!

With love,

Chris and Carol

Our 8th wedding anniversary 😍 I still can’t believe that we’ve known each other for 12 years, that we’ve been together for 10 years, and that we’ve been married for 8 years!

There’s a part of me that looks at everything we’ve done together and thinks that those 8 years feel like 100.

But there’s also a side of me that looks at how we feel about each other, at the way that we laugh about our “internal jokes” (we have a billion), at the way that we still smile when we see each other again after we go out and do separate things… and it just feels like we’ve been together for only a year or two.

Well, I guess time really is relative, and all I can hope with all my heart is that our love, respect, “carinho,” and friendship will last forever.

To my husband, my best friend, my solmate, my one and only… Chris ❤️

Who also LOVES Tokyo? ❤️🗼🇯🇵🍜🙋‍♀️ Swipe until the end for a laugh 😂

Tokyo is definitely one of our favorite cities in the world. It can be a bit (or very) overwhelming. Navigating the transportation system, dealing with a lot of “people dodging” on the main streets, having to translate signs and menus at restaurants… Especially if it’s your first time in Japan. But even now during our second time, we still got lost trying to find the correct exit for the train/metro a few times 😂 I wonder how many times we’ll have to visit Tokyo to be able to finally understand the Shinjuku station haha

But getting lost is also part of the fun. And the reality is that Tokyo is an “organized chaos” so that helps quite a lot.

And all the beautiful temples, the amazing food, the cool vibrant night lights and the millions of attractions are some of the reasons why we love this city so much ❤️

During this trip, we visited mainly new places that we hadn’t been to before. We’ll show everything in our next videos on YouTube with practical information, as always. Stay tuned!

For now, we want to know from you guys, what are your top 3 favorite cities in the world? 🗺️

Don’t skip this place in Japan 🇯🇵 ❌ 🚫

Especially if you love beaches like us 🏝️Okinawa is paradise! And not crowded at all compared to places like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. There are days that we don’t even see any other foreigners while traveling around the smaller islands like Miyako-jima, Ishigaki, and Iriomote. It’s a good contrast to Tokyo for example, which is a place that we love, but we sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people at all the main tourist attractions.

Have you ever been to Okinawa? What was your favorite island? 🏝️

El Nido is such a special place for us ❤️ We first came here in 2019 in the beginning of our travels, but it’s only on our second visit in 2020 that we got so attached to it. It wasn’t planned at all, but we spent 6 months here when Covid hit. In the beginning of the lockdown, we had to stay. But then when things started to open up a bit and we could leave, we decided to stay longer as we felt safe and we also started to feel at home.
In 2022, we came back, and now in 2025, again. We still have friends here, so it’s always good to see them. And there’s so much to do in El Nido 🇵🇭

This time we discovered a new kayak route from a place called El Nido Beach camp. We rented a kayak there for 300 pesos per hour, and then we visited a sandbar, a secret cave, and a beautiful beach on Lagen island. Make sure you watch our El Nido videos on YT (Jumping Places) 😊

How many of you have been following us since our lockdown times in El Nido? 🫶

A guide to some of the amazing things to do in Siargao 🇵🇭

We did all that in a week but at a relaxed pace as we’re traveling full-time. If you have limited time in Siargao, we think all that can be done in around 3-4 days.

Our accommodation in General Luna cost 42 USD per night. It was a nice little house with a tiny little “pool” and in a nice location. However, we can’t really recommend it as the water from the tap and shower had a very bad smell of sewage 🙁. So we had to use bottled water to wash our teeth and to rinse some of the dishes. And we couldn’t really use the pool either. Still, we got a little sick during our time in Siargao. But we can’t be sure if it was the water from our accommodation or from something else.

When we went to the north, we spent one night at a place called 3B Resort. We paid 30 USD for the night in an AC room. The resort is perfectly located right on Alegria Beach, which is our favorite beach on the entire island. You can go to the north and come back to General Luna in the same day, but if you’re doing that with a scooter, it can be too tiring. So we recommend staying the night in the north.

For food, we were spending around 5-10 dollars per person per meal. But you can eat cheaper than that if you go for snacks like sandwiches, burgers, etc.

Please note that these prices are for the “low season”. We don’t think the prices for the attractions go up during the high season, but the accommodation prices certainly do.

Hope you find this post helpful 😊

Back in the Philippines 🇵🇭 For the 4th time! ❤️

This time we’re revisiting some places that we’ve been to before but also exploring some hidden gems for the first time.

The Philippines has more than 7600 islands, so there are always new places to visit 😅

In case you’re new to our Instagram and YouTube channel, let us explain why this country is so special to us…

1️⃣ In 2019, when we quit our jobs to travel full time, the Philippines was the first place that we travelled to.

2️⃣ In 2020 when the pandemic hit, we were here. At first, we were kind of stuck in El Nido, but then we decided to stay there during the lockdown. We ended up living in El Nido for 6 months.

3️⃣ Filipinos are some of the friendliest people in the world. We always feel very welcome and safe around here.

4️⃣ When someone asks us “what’s your favorite country?” we always say “the Philippines”. And that’s because of the lovely people but also because of the natural beauty. As you guys know, we’re beach lovers and here we can find the biggest amount of incredibly beautiful, untouched beaches in the world. As we mentioned before, there are more than 7600 different islands, so that means A LOT of beaches.

We’re curious to know how many of you guys have been following us since the pandemic times, when we were making videos here 🇵🇭 Let us know in the comment section!

We didn’t know Korean food was SO YUMMY! 🤤

As you can see in these photos, we tried a looooot of food. Most of these dishes we had never eaten before. We never knew much about Korean cuisine before visiting the country, but we’re glad we devoured a bunch of different dishes throughout our trip and ended up loving pretty much everything.

Chris’s favorites are the famous Korean BBQ and bulgogi, and mine are Yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) and kimchi.

Oh, and we both love Soju as well 😂 maybe a bit too much 🍾

While traveling the world, sometimes we get tired of eating local food, and when that happens, we always look for an Indian, Chinese, or Italian restaurant. Now we’ll definitely look for Korean places everywhere we go 🇰🇷

Have you guys tried Korean food? What is your favorite dish?

Memories from Busan 🌇✨ Swipe until the end for a little surprise 🤠

When we searched Busan online we thought it could be just another big city.. not very interesting. But when we got there we found it was a lot better than we had anticipated. There is SO MUCH to do! Many beach areas, many attractions, thousands of different restaurants (not just Korean but all cuisines) and some nice nature parks too.

It’s a city that we could even see ourselves living in ☺️

Have you guys been to South Korea? What was your favorite city?
