First and foremost, whaaaaaat! 🤯 WOW!! We cannot put into words how incredibly grateful we are to each and every person who has subscribed to our channel, or watched our videos - either in the past or in the present. When this channel started back in 2017, we never expected to even reach 100 subscribers, let alone 250k!

Dark Curiosities began as a hobby, influenced by many true crime and horror story narrators at the time; mainly Cayleigh Elise (we miss her loads 😭), Lazy Masquerade, Mr Nightmare, Be Busta... You name it. What started as a pastime fueled by our intrigue of true crime eventually became our jobs, and to be able to do that is something we are beyond thankful for. Without you, this channel would be nothing. To be the voice for so many missing and murdered people, especially for the cases largely forgotten, is truly an honour.

🇫🇷2ND UPDATE ON ÉMILE SOLEIL DISAPPEARANCE AND DEATH🇫🇷

According to Le Parisien newspaper, the 2-year-old's remains could have been hidden for months prior to being found according to new forensic analysis. Forensic experts agreed that his bones were transported and deposited shortly before they were found. The skull was kept in two locations, one of which did not face the force of the elements. His t-shirt showed no signs of degredation, therefore was determined not to be in contact with the remains. This means Émile was not wearing these clothes when he died. It's alleged that the grandfather remains a prime suspect. According to reports, he abused his children and severely punished his students in the 1990s. Investigators are trying to determine if a fit of rage would coincide with injuries inflicted on Émile's skull. The autopsy showed 'serious trauma' to his face. Investigators are looking into third-party involvement in the case. New leads are being explored at present.

Émile's grandparents were released from custody late last night due to not having sufficient evidence to proceed with an indictment. The two others who were arrested, reportedly, two of their children, were also released without charge.

We will continue to give updates when we can, but details are still a little hazy at the moment.

BREAKING NEWS: THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ÉMILE SOLEIL🇫🇷

A truly shocking update in the case of 2 and a half year old Émile Soleil, the little boy who vanished in the French Alps on 8th July of 2023 and whose bones were found in March of 2024, 1.7kms from his grandparents home. French media reports that four family members, including his grandparents who were looking after him on the day he vanished, have been taken into custody for 'voluntary homicide' and 'concealment of a co**se'.

In November of 2024, two partial traces of DNA were found on Émile's clothing and bones, which opened further avenues of investigation. On March 13th of 2025, investigators retrieved a flower box near the Haut-Vernet chapel, where traces of blood were found and analysed. The chapel was around 100 metres from the grandparents' home. The four arrests were subsequently made this morning, 25th March 2025, at 6:30am in La Bouilladisse by the Marseille gendarmerie. Forensic operations across other locations are currently ongoing, and the grandparents vehicle has been seized.

Claude Gilliot, the priest who baptised Émile and who watched over the Haut-Vernet chapel, reportedly took his own life on March 15th and was buried yesterday. He was very close to the family, and after providing images of Émile and his family to the press, they reportedly excluded him and boycotted the chapel. The priest and Émile's grandfather exchanged insults. According to Gilliot's sister, he voiced concerns about Émile's family that "I think it all started with them."

The family had been under surveillance and had their phones tapped, which has revealed there were tensions within the family.

On a personal note, I hope that justice will prevail for little Émile. He looked like such a lovely wee boy. Rest in peace 🕊💙

🦌BREAKING NEWS! CASE UPDATE FOR THE MARTIN FAMILY DISAPPEARANCE🦌

We have a HUGE update in the case of the Martin family, who vanished from Portland, Oregon, in 1958. Authorities may have found their 1954 Ford Country Squire vehicle, though unconfirmed. It has been reported today that the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office is preparing to pull a vehicle out of the Columbia River near Cascade Locks near to where the family vanished. They believe it may be connected. Three family members remain unaccounted for.
