We are taking preorders for the Spanish edition.
For someone who is used to writing on a regular basis, being able to publish a first book in physical format, as it should be, remains deeply gratifying, especially in these very strange times, and considering that it is highly “politically incorrect”, rejects conventional social acceptance from the very beginning, and stands firmly against that kind of bu****it. Even more so when it takes the form of a research-based biography about one of the most influential artists and individuals in one’s life.
It has now been almost six months since the release of “Far Beyond All Light: The Life, Death and Legacy of Jon Nödtveidt and Dissection”. The sense of fulfillment is complete. The support received, while not my main concern, is something I truly appreciate, especially the number of messages from readers who have understood it and expressed that clearly.
That said, it feels almost unreal that new editions in Spanish (out May 15th, preorder open) and German (later this year) are about to be published, as suggested by my editor. Bringing this tribute to life in printed form and seeing it reach readers in three different languages is far more than I ever expected.
For all of this, I must primarily thank my editor, Darkness Shall Rise Productions, for their interest, constant support, and outstanding work. I would also like to acknowledge those entrusted with preserving Jon’s legacy and history, with whom I have consulted in order to maintain that spirit throughout the publication. Of course, my thanks also go to the former members of Dissection (Official), who kindly contributed by sharing their perspective on the band’s history and musical development.
I would also like to extend my special thanks to all the photographers and individuals who contributed visual, graphic, and audio material to this project. Their input has been invaluable. A special mention goes to the creators of the cover and back cover, photographers Soile Siirtola/extreMMetal.se and Oscar Mattsson, and illustrator/designer Daniele Valeriani Art, all whom have previously worked with Dissection. Also, Alex from Irrwisch Design for the main title and color variants.
Finally, I should mention that I have received proposals to publish it in other languages, such as French, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, and others. While I consider all options, I also believe that sometimes enough is enough, and that it is not necessary for this project to pass through too many hands. For now, the process is complete. What the future holds, I do not know. I do not rule anything out if it is done in a proper way, but since the aim was to preserve a life story and legacy in an old-fashioned format, a book, I can say that I achieved what I set out to do.
Note: All errors from the first English edition, whether typographical, redundant, formatting-related, grammatical, or involving incorrect data, have been corrected for the second English printing, as well as for the Spanish and German editions.
