WHIPPING UP A HUGE STORM! As Universal Pictures’ ‘Twisters’ continues to break box office records it also becomes the latest film to host the Universal Below-the-Line Traineeship, a unique career opportunity which placed trainees across 8 departments including Costume, Art Department, Sustainability, Production Office, Production Accounting, VFX, Construction (Art Department) and Post-Production VFX. This couldn’t have been done without our partner, the Oklahoma Film + Music Office, who helped source Oklahoma’s incredible emerging below-the-line talent, and Ghetto Film School who helped source our Post-Production VFX trainee in LA. CONGRATULATIONS... to Universal Composers Initiative participant Sara Barone who created the terrifying music for Hollywood Horror Nights 'Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines' at Universal Studios Orlando. An all-new original haunted house featuring an all-female group of classic Universal Monsters including; The Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula’s daughter Marya, the She-Wolf of London and the mummified Egyptian princess Anck-Su-Namun. Well done Sara!

THE RECORDING ACADEMY... Announced it's 2024 New Member Class invitees in June and we are so excited to see Universal Composers Initiative participants Joy Ngiaw, Cameron Moody, Shirley Song and Eunike Tanzil included in this years list. Director of Music at DreamWorks Animation Vivian Aguiar Buff was also welcomed to the 2024 New Member Class and President of NBCUniversal Music and Publishing, Mike Knobloch who partnered with UTD&I in founding the Universal Composers Initiative was re-elected onto the Board of Trustees. Huge congratulations to all!
