๐Ÿ…Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) 2013 and 2015 Winner.
๐Ÿ…Philippine Bloggers Awards Best Entertainment and Lifestyle Blog 2017 Winner. We are one of the leading online sources featuring businesses and their products and services, travel destinations, social events and entertainment, lifestyle brand news, and other promotions so

that we can provide reliable details for the benefit of the Cebuano community. We also advertise and convey relevant news on "Social Good" for the information of the whole country, the Philippines. On November 30, 2008, CebuFinest.com was born and started as an online shop, selling hand-made products and fashion accessories. We also teamed up with a local brand for native-inspired footwear for women. A year later, we renovated the website into an online magazine for good finds: hotels, restaurants, and beach resorts around the metropolitan area of Cebu and its provinces like Bantayan, Camotes, and even Bohol. Reaching 20,000 page views in just a few months, the success of CebuFinest.com was massive and a lot of online consumers made us one of their choices for their cyber tour guide. We have featured the magnificent white beach of Sta. Fe Beach Club in Bantayan Island, where we made an entry to the 2010 Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA). We garnered 2nd place amongst the โ€œTop 20 Most Number of Likes on Facebookโ€, making us qualified for the Awards Night last December 12, 2010, at The Penthouse, in Sugbutel, Cebu City. March 22, 2011, the CebuFinest.com website was shut down due to outdated posts. Since then, we have posted tidbits of information on our CebuFinest page through our Twitter account, . Still, some users followed us unconditionally with their comments. We thank you dearly for your continuous support. We also sponsored company events and launched programs along with other online bloggers to show that we are still working. June 12, 2012, marks the relaunching date of the new CebuFinest, and a new logo. We continued to feature stuff and good finds around Cebu and added more news for our followers to read. Including some crispy and hot-from-the-oven news on city events, product launching, interviews with Cebuanos on their success stories, business, leisure, and most of all, city tours. A year after its relaunch, CebuFinest was nominated and became one of the top finalists for the Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA). With the massive support of our avid readers and followers, we were able to bring home the โ€œBest Cebu Events and Entertainment Blog of the Yearโ€ in 2013. Our journey became challenging to keep up with the growing content creators in Cebu but we continued to enjoy what we love doing: sharing good vibes online. Since we couldnโ€™t join the BCBA in 2014 (consecutive yearly nominations for winning websites barred by the awarding body), the one-manned online magazine opened its doors to aspiring online writers and content creators as a training ground. Philip Andrew Mayol, the founder and main editor of CebuFinest invited nine (9) writers, photographers, and junior editors to undergo training and workshops to prepare themselves to start their own platform. As a working team of 11 members, we gave ourselves another try to get nominated for the Best Cebu Blogs Awards. With the continued support of our followers and readers, we, again, received the โ€œBest Cebu Events and Entertainment Blog of the Year.โ€ That was in 2015. CebuFinest kept on getting recognized, most especially at the Philippine Bloggers Awards. Top 5 Blog of the Year (2016)
Top 2 Best Entertainment and Lifestyle Blog (2016)
WINNER Best Entertainment and Lifestyle Blog (2017)

The training program was discontinued in 2016. Currently, some of those aspirants are active content creators in Cebu. Fast forward to July 21, 2020, CebuFinest.com operates under the CebuFinest Blogging Services, a digital media services provider duly registered at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) with the permit to operate business issued by the Office of the City Mayor of Cebu. The website might look refreshed and new, but please hope that we are still the CebuFinest.com that you learned to love way back in 2008. Again, we thank you for your unending patronage of CebuFinest and surely, we will have more fun and excitement as we invite you to join us in a new set of city adventures. In the aftermath of the typhoon and the devastating floods, we come together to acknowledge the great loss and suffering.

Let us pause in prayer for all those affectedโ€”for comfort, for courage, and for strength as they begin the difficult journey of recovery and rebuilding.

May this prayer be a heartfelt plea for healing and restoration.

The Visayan Electric Co. (VECO)'s power restoration efforts are underway following Typhoon Tino, with most substations now energized.

The power distributor reports that all substations are operational, with the exception of the one in Cotcot, Liloan, which remains affected by flooding and requires further clearing before it can be brought online.

According to VECO, โ€‹despite substations being energized, officials caution that only portions of the areas they serve currently have power. Restoration to individual customers is being significantly hampered by ongoing challenges, including:

โ€‹Heavy rains
โ€‹Landslides
โ€‹Flooding
โ€‹Fallen trees
Damaged power lines and poles

The public is urged to assist restoration efforts by reporting fallen power lines. Residents should provide the pole number or a nearby account number, along with photos if possible, to expedite repairs.

The utility thanks customers for their patience as teams work safely to fully restore service.

โšก Visayan Electric Power Restoration Update (Nov 4, 3:00 PM)

The Visayan Electric Co. (VECO) reports significant progress in power restoration, with 10 out of 19 substations now energized.

โ€‹Substations currently operational include:

โ€‹Ayala
โ€‹Banilad
โ€‹Calamba
โ€‹Camputhaw
โ€‹San Fernando
โ€‹Talisay
โ€‹SRQ
โ€‹Lorega
โ€‹Mabolo
โ€‹Mandaue

โ€‹These substations are now powering some customers in their respective service areas.

โ€‹However, VECO notes that energizing all customers remains challenging due to severe weather conditions, including heavy rains, flooding, and landslides, as well as damage from fallen trees and broken lines/poles.

โ€‹Visayan Electric (VECO) has issued a brief advisory regarding its plans for power restoration following Typhoon Tino.

โ€‹The utility company stated it will commence power restoration efforts after a complete system check has been performed, and affected roads are cleared and passable.

โ€‹This cautious approach is necessary to ensure the safety of their crews and enable them to reach damaged areas effectively.

โ€‹Visayan Electric has committed to providing updates on restored areas as soon as the information becomes available, urging the public to continue looking out for one another and prioritizing safety.

โ€‹The Basilica Minore del Santo Niรฑo de Cebu has announced a temporary adjustment to its schedule and opened its doors to the public in response to the ongoing typhoon.

โ€‹In an issued public advisory issued, the Basilica informed the faithful that only the 5:30 PM Mass will be celebrated today, November 4, 2025. All other scheduled masses have been cancelled or postponed in light of the severe weather conditions.

โ€‹The advisory also extended an invitation for refuge, stating, "The Basilica also welcomes anyone who wishes to take shelter and find comfort in prayer during this time."

โ€‹This move ensures the safety of both clergy and parishioners while providing a sanctuary for those affected by the typhoon. The Augustinian Friars urge everyone to prioritize their safety and remain vigilant during the inclement weather.
