Had an absolutely beautiful, balmy 75° here yesterday and could really feel the serotonin hitting my veins while I lounged on the beach. Something about the feeling that I'm getting ever closer to the days where I can swim again, makes me excited. Soon..

Sit down, and listen. Listen to the pulse of our heartbeats. Listen to the screams for justice. Listen to the cries as we mourn our losses. Listen to the words we speak as we remember our friends, our family. Listen as we tell you we're scared. Listen as we raise our voices in laughter, in singing, in joyous moments. Listen when we tell you, we are not going anywhere.

We are brave, and bruised, and hurt, and fierce, and proud, and resilient, and fighters. We will not let you take us out. We are loved by one another. We love each other like the stars love the sky, like the flowers love a rainy day, like the tide loves the moon, like the fish, sharks, dolphins, turtles, eels, jellyfish, rays, snails, crabs, all love the sea. We love deeply, and unapologetically, and we will continue to do so. Our love is unfathomable.

We are trans people. We deserve love, and respect, and our rights. We deserve peace. We don't ask for much else. In fact, many of us would probably rather be left alone. We've done nothing wrong.

It's almost April, and you know what that means! Warmer weather! And that means more fun for a siren like me! Soon the water will be warming up enough for a dip, and then Summer is just in the distance! I can't wait to be swimming in the shallows again, and greeting all the new faces that come by each year.
