But, what could this couple do when fate turns against them, and things take an unexpected turn during their supposed most important moment?

This is the story of Kapre, a creature who lives in ancient trees in the shadows. One day he saw an open window, so out of curiosity he approached it, and saw a young girl, whose name was Nina. The Kapre befriends her, and they both share moments. Over time, Nina grows older, and Kapre promises to protect her.

As Nina matures, she moves on from playing in the forest, and Kapre is left to just watch her from afar, even witnessing her wedding day. Despite his feelings, Kapre refuses to interfere, even when tempted by the Tikbalang.

Eventually, Nina grows old, and Kapre revisits her in her final years, where she remembers their bond. After her death, Kapre continues to watch over Nina's memory, comforting a young girl who inherits Nina's doll and hearing about the kindness of Kapre. In the end, Kapre finds peace, living on the memories of those she touched.
