I am so sad to hear that my friend and co presenter of the Hogmanay show for 15 years has passed away. Iain was one of the finest people I ever knew and we both had such fun presenting the programme every year. Lydia was with us every year answering the phones welcoming guests and first footers and keeping Iain and I sustained with sandwiches, cakes to go with our new year dram(s). My mother always sent down some of her birthday clootie dumpling for us with a few extra slices for Iain for New Year’s Day. Although I’ve been doing the show on my own for a few years now it has never felt the same without Iain beside me.
Iain, it was an honour and a pleasure to know and work with you. Sincere condolences to Lydia.
