🎄If you want to move into 2024 with a healthier mindset for yourself and your kids without the burn out only a few weeks in, let me share a few tips that I have as a Working Mom of a 14, 10 and 6 year old who also helped her husband in reshaping his adult tastes! I am a Certified Health Coach but these things also came as a result of learning with experience!!
✨A key for me as a Mom who has always wanted kids that learn to love trying new things is this:
♥️DONT REACT no matter what their reaction is!!
-Feel the need to get irritated you just spent time and money making something they didn’t like?! UNDERSTANDABLE but if you go into the experience with zero expectation of whether they’ll like something or now while still having a positive energy around it, everyone wins!!
♥️Just because they don’t like the taste one day doesn’t mean they won’t in the future!
-There are MANY ways to cook food or make treats and whether your kiddo just didn’t like something that day or they didn’t like the way it was prepared, keeping an open mind and non judgmental attitude will truly serve them and you best in the long run!
🤡Let’s also not pretend that adults don’t have these exact same hangups around food! They have taste buds that are trained to prefer hyper palatable foods or even just genetically respond differently to flavor profiles.
✨Be kind to your kids and to yourself on your journey to better health!! Your attitude and energy surrounding new things will ALWAYS win and you get to choose whether thats positive or negative!
🎄Make the treats with your kids!
🎄Let them help and taste along the way.
(Luke has 5 different reactions while making these treats, can you spot them
all?!)
🎄Don’t forget that nothing happens overnight. It’s a process for everyone!
♥️Let me know if this resonates!!
