Hello everyone,
LeAnn is having more confusion everyday.
If you get a call asking for a ride home, please know she is confused about where she is most days and also thinks she is getting discharged.
It's ok to correct her or tell her you will get back to her. There really isnt a wrong thing to say.
Some people become uncomfortable in these situations.
Just know you are not alone.
Several people are getting calls and texts.
I have a call in to her hospice nurse to see what they can do about her anxiety.
Pray for peace and calm for her mind.

Hey everyone.
Sometime tomorrow afternoon (weds), LeAnn will be getting transferred to the skilled nursing at NHC Cool Springs.

We are glad that she will be well cared for and at a location that is convenient for friends to visit.

Visitors are welcome. She has her phone.

Hi everyone.
LeAnn has had some recent decline in mobility and memory/confusion.
We are figuring out next steps but in the meantime, hospice is putting her in- patient for 5 days.
The goal is to move her directly into a nursing home from the hospice facility.
It's not safe for her to live alone anymore as she needs help with regular daily tasks.

She is at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
They do allow visitors.

Hello everyone.
An update about LeAnn.
After the follow up MRI, it was determined that the Lomustin chemo med isn't working. There are no other treatment options really.
It was decided that LeAnn should strive for quality of life over quantity of life.
She is home and able to get together.
You can call or text her.
She is now enrolled in Hospice care at home so she can have some help and support.
So far she is only experiencing a feeling of fullness in her head, which does make her off balance.
She still has weakness, Lymphedema, and some muscular pain mostly attributed to being sedentary.
Obviously, she tires easily, but is still up for visitors and going out.
We are in the process of getting a donated wheelchair ramp put in her garage to the kitchen door. Some modifications need to be made.
One of the things that keeps her from going out is being unsure about getting up her few steps to get in the house.

Continued prayers for quality of life and no suffering.

Hi
I wanted to share a recent update to LeAnn's condition.
Her latest MRI shows that the original tumor is growing back.
When they stopped the Optune cap they put her back on the Tamodar chemo pills as a preventative measure. She has done that for 2 months now.

The plan is to switch from the Tamodar chemo pills to Lomustin chemo pills. These are reserved for 'the next step' when the other chemo isn't working.
Waiting on the RX to come in.
It appears that it will be similar to what she was doing, taking the chemo once a month.
She is nervous about the side effects, of course, but hopeful that it will stop the growth.
There is not currently a plan for surgery or radiation. They will not repeat radiation on the same area.

She is still optimistic and very thankful for all of her blessings, including all of you.

This holiday season, be thankful for every moment with your loved ones.

Hi everyone!
It's Kathy.
LeAnn had a follow up yesterday with the oncologist. We go once a month, which is so much better than every 2 weeks.
We knew there was a chance that she needed more chemo so we were kind of dreading the appointment.
It turned out better than we thought!
We knew from the August MRI that there was a 'bumpy area' on the scan.
The tumor board reviewed her scans and determined that it's too soon to tell if it's a regrowth. It will be monitored with the MRIs every 2 months. It could be scar tissue from the laser procedure. It could be radiation damage. It could be 'dots' of MRI contrast that can leak through damaged tissue.
With that, the chemo they mentioned is preventative! The plan is for her to stop wearing the Optune cap, which she has been wearing for 18 months now, and take chemo instead as a preventative.
The chemo will be once a month, chemo pills for 5 days straight.
We expect that it may be easier than past chemo due to it not being in conjunction with radiation. She also has the Marinol for nausea and knows what to expect.
It's a relief to no longer need to wear the cap for her. Especially since the doctors made the decision. When it was up to her, it was hard to know what to do.

Hi! It's Kathy!
LeAnn is waiting on the results of her first MRI since the L.I.T.T. Procedure in April.
Prayers for great results!
Her iron was dangerously low at her last doc appt so it was decided that she needed iron infusions again.
Instead of the series of 5, insurance approved a different brand that only requires one treatment.
We went for that yesterday.
Prayers that she feels better and gets her energy back very soon.

PSA: if you have any disease or disorder that affects your blood, and you are feeling weak and tired, make them check your iron! It is not standard practice, even if you've needed infusions in the past. 🙄🤔

LeAnn did great. Her head doesn't hurt.
Her body, however, does hurt. I guess 4 hours of surgical table and MRI tables will do that.
She's in great spirits and may come home today.
