The new year has arrived and so have the 💐 Here’s who we’re celebrating as 2026 begins.

Huge congratulations to Remi R. M. Moses on Saving Art being acquired by Disney and now streaming exclusively on Disney+. Double flowers to Cynthia Erivo, who is set to receive the Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation at the London Critics’ Circle Awards and has also been named on the 2026 New Year Honours List.

Flowers too for Meera Syal, Idris Elba, Alex Mahon, and Charlotte Moore, all recognised in the 2026 New Year Honours List by King Charles III for their outstanding contributions, alongside everyone honoured this year.

So This week’s Keith Lee, crowned Creator of the Year at the inaugural TikTok Awards (US). Flowers to Joseph A. Adesunloye on setting up Matchmakers Global South Lab, supporting emerging UK-based producers. And big love to Tobi Kyeremateng, whose short Leaving Ikorodu In 1999 has been nominated for British/Irish Short Film of the Year at the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards.
