Original Sealed Deadstock wax from THE UNDERGROUND (1989 New York), MAHONY & CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1991 DETROIT) and a reissue of YOUNG ZEE “A Musical Meltdown” 2LP ON GENTLEMAN’S RELIEF RECORDS!! Back in 2013 we reissued Young Zee “A Musical Meltdown” in 2 parts. Gentleman’s Relief Records has made a double lp, full color reissue with Bonus tracks!!

15 years ago this week John and I released our first 12” single MIXMASTA D’s “TURNTABLE SCIENTIST” and we’ve been releasing rare and unknown hip hop ever since. We’ve put out 107 records at Dope Folks Records and I can’t believe that John won’t be here to DJ with me for our 15th birthday. Well this Friday at in Milwaukee Wisconsin, KILLA KUTZ and myself will be playing classic Hip Hop and Rare underground bangers from the Dope Folks Catalog from 8-close on Friday 8/29 paying tribute to John aka Kid Millions. I miss my partner so much and this weekend we celebrate his life. Come hang out with us and toast to Kid Millions. Thanks for all of the support for 15 years! Love you guys

I can’t believe I have to post this. John Kuester, aka one half of Dope Folks, passed away last night. I’m devastated and I don’t know what to think. It’s unreal. If you were on our label, John was probably who you talked to. We started Dope Folks Records 15 years ago over our shared love of unknown obscure hip hop from the golden era. I can’t tell you how excited we got when we signed artists or discovered projects. What I’m saying is, John was the driving force behind Dope Folks Records and I can’t believe he’s gone. If you knew him you know he was the real deal. Tell your friends how much you love them. This is the worst feeling. Big love to everyone that showed us support over the years. A lot of you we’ve never even met in person because we dealt with you overseas. Either way, shout out to everyone that has supported us because we had so much fun doing it. I’m gonna miss my partner so much.
Thanks for listening and sorry for the awful news.
The record community and the Hip Hop community lost a true Milwaukee Icon.

Rest in peace Raymond Davis aka X-Ray. We were fortunate to release almost 10 projects over that last 14 Years & he was always a pleasure to work with. My condolences to his family, friends & fans all over the world.
