Brew Roots is a podcast that features a behind the scene look into some of our favorite beers from all over. Our missions is to tell the stories of the people behind great craft beer, cider, and mead. Join us each week as we discover a different brewery, cider, or meadery and chat with the people behind the scenes and tell their stories. On top of that we will mix in some beer reviews, beer news and events happening in the beer community.

We’re deeply saddened to hear that after a long battle with cancer, our friend Neil Kade of Gilded Skull Brewing and Blending Co. has passed away.

Neil was an incredibly talented brewer. His passion and knowledge always came through in his beers. Erika knew him back when he was just a hobby homebrewer with big dreams of going pro, and we were all thrilled to see him bring those dreams to life—his beer was nothing short of excellent.

In 2020, we had the privilege of sitting down with Neil on the podcast, alongside friends Matt from Wandering Soul Beer and Charlie from Remnant Brewing, to talk about their three-way collaboration release. It was a conversation filled with passion, creativity, and comradery. You can listen back to that episode here below.

Thank you for the beer and the friendship, Neil. You will be deeply missed.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Amy, his family, and everyone who knew and loved him.
