Last Friday marked one year since I became the newest Macaroni KID Reading publisher — and what a year it’s been. Taking on this role has given me a new purpose beyond being a stay‑at‑home mom. Since launching in Reading, I’ve expanded to Morgantown, and most recently, Lancaster. What started as “maybe this will turn into something” has turned into something much, much more.
Becoming a publisher has opened doors I never expected — to connect with the community in ways I didn’t think possible. I’m by no means an expert in sales or marketing, but I’m learning every day. This side‑gig has grown into a real part of my life.
I’m just a mom who’s been through a lot — postpartum struggles, infertility, loss, IVF — raising two kids largely without a nearby support system. Parenthood is messier and more complicated than I ever expected. But I do this because my kids deserve it. Because I believe local families deserve resources — to make life a little easier.
