I work with business founders with limiting beliefs that stop them from succeeding on social media.

Here are a few I hear:
“I don’t have enough followers to make an impact.”
“I’m not interesting enough.”
“I’m too late to the game.”
“I need perfect content.”
“I don’t have time.”

Only “true” if you believe them.

And guess what.

EVERYONE has them.

I’ll go first.

I had the idea to host an AI event before it was popular.

100-person conference.
4 sponsors.
6 speakers.

I organized it by myself in under 6 months.

(It was very stressful. I wouldn’t recommend.)

The event got 2 leads that would have brought a positive ROI for the whole event

.

My client gets up to 20 leads per month from LinkedIn with no more than 1000 impressions per post.

How?

With Marketing Bound’s RCO Method.

R stands for Remove Ego.
Every business owner must overcome limiting beliefs that prevent them from doing well on social media.

For my client, she understood that she would have to share her knowledge online to demonstrate her expertise. There was no gatekeeping her knowledge (ego eliminated.)

C stands for Content Strategy.
Every strategy must include ways to get reach and demonstrate expertise.

We built her a strategy that includes tactics to get her in front of the right audience and build trust with them. A lead just told her he binged her content on her profile and reached out.

O stands for Off the Platform.
This is the most overlooked part of any social media strategy. Determine how to get leads off of the platform and into your sales funnel.

For my client, we determined a strong freebie for her audience that they absolutely love.

And voila, up to 20 leads per month!

This is my favorite mindset shift people are talking about on TikTok.

Many creators are encouraging their audiences to post.

- Social media is free.
- Every post has the potential to change your life.
- Might as well post and see what happens.

One TikTok creator, Katie Fang, posted a video of herself crying, getting ready for work.

It went viral.

She now has 4 million followers.
Brand deals. And a New York penthouse.

9:00 am: Wake up. Slow morning.
10:00 am: Admin.
11:00 am: Review contractors’ work.
12:00 pm: Lunch.
1:00 pm: Focused work.
3:00 pm: Grocery shopping.
4:00 pm: Client meetings.
6:00 pm: Supper + break.
9:00 pm: Second wind. Client work.
11:00 pm: Night Routine.

It’s not about rushing through tasks.
It’s setting up my day to move the needle forward.

I use time blocking and the 12-week year to schedule my days.

Get leads 80% sold with these posts:

1. Address objections
Address the concerns they may have in your content.
These are questions you got in previous sales calls.

Content example: “Here is the ROI my client got after 3 weeks of working with me.” (To address ROI concerns).

2. Paint their current situation and where they want to be.
Show them you understand where they are in their journey and what life will look like after working with you.

Content example: “Client saw [result] in just 7 days. Here's how”

3. Break a limiting belief they have about your service.
People have opinions about your service and its effectiveness. Show your audience that you are different by challenging their beliefs about your services.

Content example: [Industry staple] is not how [your service] gets [result].

4. What it’s like working with you.
These types of posts are meant to eliminate the people who are not a good fit to work with you.

Content example: My most successful clients do these 3 things VERY well.

5. Case studies
Demonstrate your ability to get results. Show your audience you can get them to where they want to be.

Content example: How [target audience] got [result] in [timeframe].

6. Add urgency
Encourage your audience to take action.

Content example: “Only 2 spots left.”

By including these posts in our clients’ content mix, we consistently generate leads for them.

I outsourced social media ads for a client.
It was a huge failure.

I was friends with this guy.
He convinced me he knew more about ads than I did.

His portfolio was impressive.
I was excited that he knew these secret tactics to get results.

I said, “No problem. Should any of my clients need ads, I’ll use his services.”

So I reached out for one of my clients.

Here was the slow death:
- Ignored us for the first 3 weeks.
- Took forever to set up the first campaign.
- Forgot to send updates on the campaign.
- Ignored my insights into the client’s industry.
- Admitted to forgetting us cause they were busy.
- Complained that I reached out for updates.
- Ignored my messages for days (like why use Slack?)
- They told us they were getting great results based on some arbitrary numbers they made up.
- Told them we didn’t think we should move forward.
- They never responded and just cut our accounts.

Thousands of dollars and a lot of wasted hours later.

I realize I should have asked for a refund.
Because what the hell was that?

One month ago,
I set up campaigns for this client myself.
Got the first lead within 3 weeks.

So many lessons from this experience.
Which one sticks out to you the most?

People get “jealous” when they see I’m comfortable on camera.

I’m sure they wouldn't be jealous of the:
-> 1000s of hours I put into a podcast.
-> 100s of videos I’ve recorded (and didn’t even post).
-> 100 of hours spent learning storytelling, editing, and communication.
-> 100s of hours editing and evaluating everything I’ve done wrong.

Some people are naturally gifted at certain skills.

For the majority of us, it takes time.

It takes practice.

You can be amazing at anything.

But don't compare your first step to others' step 20.

-> This is what we have done so far + results:

Sneaky move #1:
We already built a following on other platforms.

Result: About 66k on Instagram.

Move #2:
Test out one long-form video topic we think will work well with his current audience.

Result: We picked one of his services that always does well in his content.

Move #3:
Promote the YouTube video to his existing audience. See how many watch hours we can get with one 7-minute video.

Result: We got 600 watch hours 😍

-> What we plan on doing:

Move #4:
Release 9 more YouTube videos and promote to existing audiences.

Move #5:
Hit the 4000 watch hour requirement.
Apply for monetization.

The focus is to make money from social.
Of course.

Less people talk about how social posts alleviate so much work for you further down the line.

Results-driven social content means:
👉 Your content filters your audience to attract the right leads.
👉 Reducing the customer journey by addressing their top questions in your content.
