Jenna and Tim’s wedding was so special.
Incredible location, fantastic couple and family, and the date - August 8, 2026.
The ceremony was on the top of Toad Hill Farm (shoutout to owners Mandy and Gene - they’re one of a kind) and the reception and cocktails overlooked the mountains. The weather was warm. The sun was shining and all was perfect for the ceremony.
Suddenly, the leaves on the trees were upside down. We know what that means… and oh heck yeah it happened. The clouds released Niagara Falls on our heads. The rain was crazy hard, had to be about an inch plus in less than 10 minutes.
Then it stopped. Huge sigh of relief. Equipment didn’t get too wet, seemed like we would be ok. Cocktails recommenced. Jenna and Tim joined their guests and dinner was starting anytime.
Cue the clouds - and the mountain monsoon came back! I’ll skip the tragic demise of my QSC K10 speaker, the uplights that got wet amid the rest of the chaos. Moving everything and tossing a trash bag over my sound board kept the rest of the equipment in ok shape for continuing with the music.
But - The food was getting wet!!!! Tables were moved, guests moved in from the edges and everyone pitched in and helped each other stay out of the rain.
The rain finally stopped, toasts were given, dances were danced and it was truly a magnificent wedding.
They say rain is good luck on your wedding day, I’m expecting to hear that they won Powerball anytime now!
And yes, i did play ‘Ironic’ by Alanis Morrisette (it’s like rain on your wedding day!’)
