Only 3 days until the second installment of The Sonic Book Club!

At this Sonic Book Club we'll deep dive into the worlds akua naru builds in her albums, The Blackest Joy and The Miner's Canary. We'll explore the insights, questions, understandings, and themes that came up for us as we listened to these albums and be able to share them with akua herself.

akua naru is a Hip Hop artist, organizer, producer, activist, and scholar whose work is a vast sonic landscape, both poetic and wise. She explores varied and common experiences of Black women through rhyme backed by everything from Jazz to Soul.
