Dear all beautiful Women out there - Happy Women’s Day 💃
Woman - Is a day enough to celebrate a journey of a woman !!!
I always wanted to share my journey of womanhood and this came as an amazing opportunity to do the same !!! Yes I am a woman, a daughter , a mother, a sister , a wife, a sister-in-law, a daughter-in-law, a teacher !!! I would say God has been very kind to me to give ample of incidences of my success, but this one remains closer to my heart . Every girl comes out of the cozy comfortable home of their parents to the real world and for me it was at the age of 23. I got married and arrived to the land of opportunities at that time (2005) USA. Everything was new for me , from the country, to the people, culture, life style. Being naive, I faced many hurdles in my marriage, my career and my life. But deep inside , the fire of achieving something was always alive. After quite a few challenges of adjustment in new country , I started focussing on my career and started searching for universities near my home for doing Master’s in Computer Science . I got enrolled in Bowie State University. Based on my job experience and skills , my professor offered me 100% scholarship. During my tenure at BSU, I conceived. It was the best moment, but the journey was not that straightforward (will not go much into details). I had to face many battles , but that did not stop me to achieve my dream of graduating . Till the last day, I was going to school. I went to labour on Thursday, 2nd August 2007 morning, and in afternoon I gave birth to my angel 😇. My last semester was stilll due and I had to give my final exam in Dec 2007. In those 4 months , there were still challenges. But when there is a will, there is a way. I graduated my Master’s with 4.0/4.0 GPA , with cap on my head, with that proud moment and my lucky 🍀 charm (my daughter) in my arms. Till now I can remember those days. Today I am a successful teacher, mother , wife, homemaker and most important I am happy and satisfied. And for this wonderful journey, I can not forget to thank pillars of my life , my husband (who showed his patience in my tough times and proved that he would never let me go) , my both children (who are always there for me), my parents (who have never stopped showering their love and support to me) , my sister (who would do all the chores of home just so that I study and excel, yes I got best student award in my school too )!!! I would say to all the young girls out here , that education is an asset which will only bring you profit in your life . Be educated , be independent, balance your career and family !!! Both are equally important 🙂
