🚌 Don’t forget the bus drivers! 🚌

I know this is a busy time of year and none of us need anything extra added to our plates, but if anyone deserves a little gratitude this time of year, it’s this undervalued lot.

These unsung heroes have been delivering our precious cargo to and from school all year while undoubtedly behaving not so preciously at all.

If you think “Well not my kid” even for a second, as a former substitute teacher, I can attest that it probably is.

Most of our kids enter these yellow behemoths like they’re entering the Wild West- a lawless wasteland where propriety has gone to die.

And at its helm, a steadfast, unaffected captain mans the wheel while attempting to sustain order and traverse roads where drivers don’t have the sensibility to obey laws and flashing lights.

I. Can’t. Imagine.

Whatever we pay these people, it isn't enough. Every day, our kids come and go safely and it’s thanks to these underpaid gluttons for punishment.

So while you’re out and about picking up teacher gifts, please don't forget the bus drivers!!

National leaders are calling for urgent action to protect students on and around school buses. At the first-ever National School Bus Safety Summit in Washington, D.C., more than 400 leaders from government, public safety, education, and transportation came together to address the growing crisis of illegal school bus passings and chart a national path forward.

Here’s what was discussed, why it matters, and what comes next: https://loom.ly/NDiscEc
