Fern Hume is someone you might well have met at the Overland Event... as well as presenting on multiple occasions, she's a highly valued member of our volunteer team.

Fern experimented with overseas motorbike travel in 2011 with a wild camping trip to Norway, which proved a success, and in 2012, set off to ride from the UK to New Zealand via Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, China, Pakistan and India, and got stuck in Nepal for a year after falling in love with the Himalayas.

A further 3 years exploring and working round New Zealand by bike, she moved home to the UK and discovered that it was still possible to fit random remote bike adventures into 2 week work holidays to multiple countries in several continents.

Unfortunately Fern's health has currently reached the point where adventures like "leaving the house" are incredibly difficult without equipment she desperately needs... Hence her finally giving in to her friends (including us) and launching this fundraiser to get her back out into the world and events.

Sidecar experiences from Morpeth are no more! We've left our unit at Whitehouse Farm and have set sail for the coast.

Sidecar experience will be back next year but from our new base at !

Thanks so much to everyone who came for a ride with us over the past 4 years at Whitehouse farm. We've had more than a thousand people try sidecars over the first 4 years of sidecar experience and hopefully there will be a lot more from our new location in cresswell.

In der heutigen Episode nehmen wir euch mit ins Outback:
Wir düsen mit unseren Moppeds über eine gefühlt endlose Piste, dass der rote Staub nur so fliegt - ja, das klappt auch mit 50 Kubik ganz gut! 😄
Dazu null Verkehr, nur ein paar tierische Begegnungen in Form von Kühen und Kängurus, die bei unserem Zweitakt-Geknatter ganz große Augen kriegen. Kurzum, die Strecke macht mega Laune auf den Oldies!
Nicht so cool ist allerdings, dass es viel zu schnell dunkel wird und wir noch immer 25 Kilometer bis zu unserem Nachtlager vor uns haben. Falls einer von euch schon mal auf einem 50 Jahre alten Zweirad unterwegs war, der Frontscheinwerfer ist ungefähr so hell wie eine Kerze - kein Scherz! 🕯️

Ob wir heil ankommen, oder irgendwo im Busch unser Zelt aufschlagen müssen? 👉 Flitzt schnell rüber zu YouTube und schaut’s euch an! 😁

In today’s episode, we’re taking you straight into the Outback:
We’re tearing down what feels like an endless dirt track on our bikes, sending red dust flying everywhere - and yes, that works surprisingly well even with 50cc! 😄
No traffic in sight, just a few wildlife encounters: cows and kangaroos giving us the widest eyes ever at the sound of our two-strokes. Simply put, this stretch is pure fun on our oldies!
Not so fun? Darkness falling way too fast, and we still have 25 kilometers to reach our camp. If any of you have ever ridden a 50-year-old bike, you probably know the headlight is basically as bright as a candle - no joke! 🕯️
