ATTENTION all PNW tapeheads and film freekz! The time has come for another VHS SWAP & SCREENING at Decay Olympia on FRIDAY JUNE 6TH!

VOTE FOR THE MOVIE LISTED BELOW THAT YOU WANT TO SEE PROJECTED ON THE BIG SCREEN!

Forgotten Anthology Horror:
#1. TERROREYES (1989)
A frustrated advertising executive is confused to receive a job assignment from her boss to write the screenplay to a horror film. Recruiting the help of her friends, a weekend camping expedition becomes the forum for each to share their scariest stories, which become frightfully real.
--or--
#2. WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE (1991)
Three short stories about three extraordinary friendships gone wrong; An antique car comes into the life of the young couple of Alex and Kathleen. The young bachelor Frank finds a new friend within his refrigerator. Hard working Susan seeks a dating agency to find her perfect match.

DIY Vibes Double-Feature:
#3. FUTUROPOLIS (1984)
Space cadets Captain Garth, Spud, Lieutenant Luna and Cosmo investigate the chaos unleashed by Lord Egghead's "mutation ray."
--AND--
#4. THE WIZARD OF SPEED AND TIME (1988)
A Hollywood filmmaker (Mike Jittlov) makes a short for an evil film studio. Unbeknownest to him, the producer has placed a bet of $25,000 that he won't come up with anything with a use. Luckily, our film creator gets the help of his friends.

#5. THE WICKED CITY (1992)
Futuristic Hong Kong is on the verge of a takeover by ruthless Reptoids disguised as humans. Two partners go through Hell to take them down in this insane multi-genre freakout with elaborate FX work based on Hideyuki Kikuchi's novel and the 1987 anime.

Fringe/Outsider/Psychotronic Cinema Double-Feature:
#6. THE ARRIVAL (1980)
Rare sci-fi docudrama made by California's Unarius cult about a primitive human who learns of his past and future after discovering a spaceship.

#7. TRIBULATION 99: ALIEN ANOMALIES UNDER AMERICA (1991)
Collage form mockumentary satirizing conspiracy theories about aliens from the planet Quetzalcoatl, a replicant Fidel Castro, the psychic vampire regime in Grenada and more.

#8. ROLLER BLADE (1986)
In a futuristic society, rebels fighting against a fascist state are aided by a group of roller-skating nuns called the Bod Sisters. Low-budget lowbrow h***y dystopian action comedy schlockfest.

PLEASE READ! A good friend of mine is in need of help and I’m not generally one to ask people to go into their own pockets but his job is trying to screw him out of $5K over something their own insurance should cover and any donations you could possibly spare would be of so much assistance. Max is a great guy, a dedicated single father and has contributed an invaluable amount to his community arts scene through the indie wrestling circuit and independent film curation/programming. If you've listened to my Video Psychosis podcast then you've heard his articulate and passionate thoughts on films like THE UNINVITED (1944).

Anything you could donate would be tremendously appreciated and if any of my friends can help I’d be more than happy to repay your generous favor however I can. If any of my friends donate over $20 and send a screenshot of their contribution I'll happily supply them with a gift package for their kindness.

The link below contains more details on the situation but you can also contact him here on Facebook (Max K. Meehan) or on Instagram with any questions about helping or spreading awareness.

Thanks for reading. ❤️

For the last 2½ years we've hosted 31 movie screenings of the weird, wild and obscure at Cryptatropa. That adds up to 148 shorts and 52 feature films since June 7th 2022. TONIGHT will be our final regular monthly screening as we step away for a breather to focus on other projects and matters of importance for the time being. There are plans to continue some of our annual events later in the year such as the Far Out Film Fest and Old School Anime Night so we're not walking away for good. Thx to Olympia and all of our attendees over the years for supporting the screenings. Here's a look at our show tonight, hope to see you there!

WE NEED YOUR VOTE!

Which of these 3 movies would you like to see on TUESDAY JANUARY 28 accompanied by a secret mysterious movie before it at 6pm?

#1. DEATH DRUG (1978)
A young man in Los Angeles dreams of striking it big as a singer in the music business. One day he gets signed to a big record contract, but along with the fame and money he develops an addiction to the drug P*P. Akcoll99 of Letterboxd describes it as "Re**er Madness for the Disco Generation."

#2. Allegro non Troppo (1976)
A psychedelic parody of Fantasia. The Italian title means Not So Fast!, an interjection meaning “slow down” or “think before you act” and refers to the film’s pessimistic view of Western progress (as opposed to the optimism of Disney’s original). Ruth Scouller of Letterboxd calls it "misanthropic and hallucinatory. Savagely funny, satirically consistent and aesthetically all over the shop."

#3. The Boy Friend (1971)
When the leading lady of a low-budget musical r***e sprains her ankle, the assistant stage manager is forced to understudy and perform in her place, becoming a star and finding love in the process. From the notorious Ken Russell, director of The Devils, Altered States, The Lair of the White Worm, Crimes of Passion and other cult classics! "The musical to end all musicals. Insane costume and set design, quite almost a perfect movie." -Lily, Letterboxd

Three great movies but it's up to YOU which will hit the big screen at Cryptatropa Bar the last Tuesday of this month! List your pick in the comments below and we'll announce the winner on the 21st!
